It was actually my friends dad's car, and hes 18.

His family has money so his dad didnt really mind, he was just happy no one was hurt..

Those damn "Trust Fund" kids really piss me off.

Don't get me wrong, great that he's not hurt, but did you ever notice that most of this crap happens to people that are just handed everything. I think the kid should be forced to work in a McDonald's or Burger King or something like that for a year as a part time job and give all of his paychecks to his dad. Not that the money would even start to cover the damages on the car, but it might teach him a little about earning money and people less fortunate than him.

The thing that seems most scary to me is how the rim shattered. The crash obviously wasn't that hard because all it did was shatter the body panels loose at the front corner. It's not like there was a severe impact that smashed the whole front end in. I would expect the body to crumble because that is what it is designed to do, but for a rim to disintegrate like that with so little impact...it just seems a little odd to me. Anyone know what the wheels are made of on the new ZO6?

Some of the previous years of Z06s came with magnesium wheels, but the 2006 models come with aluminum rims.

like others have said its unbelievable that these parents allow these kids that have just been given the right to drive to get behind the wheel of cars like this. from what it sounds like the father knew dam well the kid was taking the car. of course the father didn't mind, he knows he's an idiot for allowing him to take the car. since the father has money give me his # so i can call him up and pitch him some stock, from what it sounds like he doesn't mind taking a financial loss. lol.
