i just bought a 94 v6 vert. my problem is that when then top is closing, it is supposed to seat itself in the headliner. mine however stops about an 1/2 to 1 in before they seat themselves. i then must pull down to seal it and even then the driver's side is not flush. any help would be great thanks

mine does the same thing. its a 97 and i have to pull it about a 1/2 inch to close the latches. when its down the passenger side doesn't seem to go down as far as the drivers side.

As far as the top stopping 1/2 - 1" from seating itself, that's how they work - you're stretching the top tight when putting the top up.

What do you mean by the driver's side not beinf flush - when it is locked down?

what i mean is, when i latch the top closed, i have to pull the top down, latch it, and the driver's side stays about 1/4 -1/2 in above the top of the windsheild weather stripping. the passenger side seals flush with the stirpping. i have ajusted the hook on the latch to the shortest it can be but still wont seal completly. i have even put a piece of garden house around the latch catch on the sunvisor. help thanks

So, does it leak?
Also.... this might seem like a stupid question, but are you holding down the button to bring the top up long enough?

I know on both verts that Ive owned (89 and current 00) they both stopped about 1/2 from the seal like you said. And when I put the top up and secure the hooks, I give the button a quick press again, JUST TO MAKE SURE its up as far as it can go.
