Found a c4 on ebay for 375, (plus 210.00 shipping, so really its 585.00) This is cheaper than any I have found locally,(I have been quoted from 650 to 800, no one will firm up one their price) and this guy has 100% feed back. This is where I need help ---
I have dug around on this forum for a definate torque converter size and as near as I can figure 26 spline, 10", 9.25 bolt circle -- is this exactly what I need? (assuming mine is stock 78, 302)
Do I need a new converter? My tranny slips when cold, misses shifts, and occasionaly pukes out some fluid, I figure its mostly old, hard seals -- but I cannot take the car down long enough to attempt my own rebuild. (83K)
Please help.......

Ebay item #8059873208 (if anyone can explain how to link to other sites for a computer idiot......)
Thanx, mike.

I just paid $700.00 to get mine rebuilt. 375 seems awful cheap. But if the guy has 100% feedback I would e-mail and ask" why so cheap". Maybe he just needs rid of it. As far as what you need.Definitely 26 splined input shaft, 10" or smaller converter with a 9 3/8" bolt pattern. Converters rarely go bad, but a trans shop would have to flush & clean your old one if you plan on using it.

the listing shows that there are 49 available, I will probably get one and let everyone know how it works. One more rookie question -- the tranny -- is it pan or case fill? (is this where the dipstick goes?) thanx guys, you have been alot of help.

Paid $365 for the last C4 I had built. Was done locally using my core and included the converter. :nice: In most cases, the more you pay the more you get. This is prolly a stock rebuild with just the basics which would be just fine unless you are one to rag on it from time to time.

I can't remember the name of the guy, but there is a guy on Ebay from North Carolina, I believe, rebuilding MII C4's cheap...it's some speed shop there....that sounds like the guy....it was around $400 or so, and you had options to beef it up a bit if you wanted.
