Possible race here shortly, my friend in his bolton 93 Notch vs an 06 GT 5 Speed with an axle back exhuast. It put down 267 rwhp. This might be a 20 roll or a 40 roll, not sure, might even do both! Depends on what it looks like. Does the notch stand a chance in hell? Will report back with video. :SNSign:

Speeds is pulling a "fast" one on us...

He knows the notch will win, because it is the one that traps 82mph in the 1/8th.

Just remember, stock for stock...the 06 would walk a stock notch hard. The notch isn't stock...it has an upper/lower intake (not a bolt-on, unless you say heads are)...and some other bolt-ons...

The notch will win this one, but wouldn't if it was stock.

Good one speeds...glad I caught that one early;)

WTF are you talking about dude? An intake manifold IS a bolton. So the notch automatically will win against this golden 06 GT? Hell I think it should be a good race, power vs weight difference. I could always be a d@ck and set the 06 GT up with a gaggle of faster cars but I like interesting races.

Who gives a damn about stock for stock? I mean you post this fuggin reminder that a car that is 13 years newer is faster. Well I hope so, considering cars should have gotten faster in the last 20 years, oh wait thats right they are just now actually getting FASTER in the baseline V8 car models, because they took a huge step backwards with the first 4.6 stuff. I dont care about stock for stock in this case, it's obvious who SHOULD win, so throw in some simple mods and see who wins. I dont care if an 06 GT could runs 8's in the 1/4 with a filter, thats NOT the race that is happening with people I know.

Mods list, 93 Notch, Cobra Intake & TB, Mac Unequal Shortys, Pro Chamber, Pro Dumps, Mac UD Pulleys, !Smog, 3.08's. Stock heads, cam, intake, rockers, maf, clutch fan, front sway bar is in place!

06 GT has an axle back exhuast and I THINK an airfilter, no tune, cai setup or mid pipe that I know of.

Even if the notch MPH's more in the 1/8, no tellin what will happen from a 40 roll because the 06 car should be pulling out in the 1/4 MPH wise.

I usually dont post about the before a race because some stuff is random or I have seen enough races, raced enough or put together enough races to know what is going to happen. We have like NO 05-06's around here really running except this guy, so it should be interesting to see if an older 5.0 car with BASIC mods can hold off an 06 GT with almost nothing done. The LS1 with light boltons test didnt go very well from a 40 roll lol.

The 03 GT I posted about before, bolton car 269 rwhp, runs 8.4's, wanted to run this same 06 GT but never got to because the oil pump gears locked up, it's getting another engine with cams and longtubes now so that would be pointless.

5spd GT would rather complain about 5.0 vs 4.6 than see an interesting race, figures.

my round a round circle track car is > your gt:rlaugh:

Should be an interesting race, being I have seen the notch run before with those bolt-ons, I predict the 5.0 will edge a win from a 20 roll.

-intake not a 'bolt-on'?? That's a first

An intake manifold is not a bolt-on. I guess heads are, I guess a cam is, I guess a stroker is because you bolt down the rods:shrug:...:rlaugh:

Who said the 06 is golden? I was looking back in my readings and didn't see it...

Well you could do that, but I'm sure the 06 owner will know what he is up against. So your point is void...

Actually, they don't just get faster, they handle better, brake better, ride better, get better gas mileage, sound systems, comfort, etc...all increase. Looks by the general public increase...but to enthusiast like me and you, we see something different in the foxbody.

I know the point you were trying to make with the title of the thread. I just figured I'd point it out for those not in the know...:)

I watch every video you post on average...depends on my time schedule at the time...but I wanted to let the readers know what your true intentions are:)

Get that video up and going, time to see a notch pull a bit...

Well even the notch owner doesnt think he is gonna win lol. None of us have seen this 06 run so it should be interesting. Im pretty sure both on tires from a dead stop the notch can stil win because he runs 8.40's and this 06 car hasnt been near that yet but will the power to weight carry over from a 40 roll, or hell even a 20 roll?

www.ls1tech.com check the external engine section and see where intake manifolds lie. ;) Heads and cam are where the power is, everything else just supports it or frees up potential bottlenecks. Intake manifold is a bolton but it's the BIG bolton for a 5.0 (LS1 & 96-98 Cobras also).
