I'm finishing up my vortech install, and am looking for a place with a dyno. I've called Blood, sounded pretty reasonable to hook it up w/monitoring the air/fuel, but when I asked how much to tune, I was quoted around 1100-1200. That just seems kinda pricey, before I moved up here, most dyno tuning I looked up in Texas was around 500-700. Is tuning your car on the dyno really run around 1100-1200 here?? Any recommendations besides Blood.

Thanks

Wow. I know you are from further up north, and I am not sure how far you are willing to travel, but I can GUARANTEE you will get better prices a lil south of make-you-pay-with-Blood Enterprises. Give Chung a call here in Vancouver (360) 993-1745

Blood Ent. is a rip-off. They sound like a bunch of goons, judging from the horror stories I have heard. If you call Chungbung at Blue Oval, he will probably take you nearbye to Wong's Performance Engineering to perform the tuning. Wong has a mustang dyno, so it should be done right. The price that Blood quoted you is more expensive than what you would pay in L.A. for a base tune!:nonono:

Dang, that seems kinda steep....

...lets see, like 100-150hr for the dyno and say another 75hr for the guy helping do the tune... they must be planning on an alllll day tune. I would have thought like 6-700 would be more reasonable.

Guess rates are higher than I thought....

Thats the going rate for a custom tuned chip around here. Carb Conn in Kirkland will most likely tell you the same price.

I guess its just in the northern area, I called Blue Oval in Vancover, they quoted me 600.00 for the tune w/everything. I guess I'm gonna have to go a little south to get a deal, but they are kind of far, like 3 hours away.

Hi Guys
I bought my SCT Xcalibrator 2 flash tuner from Bill at Bills Custom Auto & Truck in Marysville 360-653 7284. Then I had the Dyno run up in Bellingham at Meridian Performance Services 360-398 2353. They were very help full and only charged me $75 although we had a couple cars go from Bill's.

Try giving TNT Dyno Inc. a call. He has a mobil rig. Usually around 75 bucks for 3 runs plus printouts etc. Quite probalby coming to an "Autozone" near you this summer if things work out. He will be in Bremerton on June 4TH.

My vote is for Carb Connection in Kirkland... I've gone there a couple times now... and they're really easy to get along with... you don't have to be a complete gear head to get things accomplished there, which is nice for some of us :D plus, they've let me do a top speed run (like driving the 1/4 mile, but 5th is included too), which is really nice to get a feel for your car overall, plus unclog those exhaust pipes w/ high-speed gases :D
