As stated above for my question that I need help with here. I am in the process of buying a 91 to 93 mustang. Preferably the 91 LX hatch, would love the coupe but it is just hard to find. Plus I do not want to go so far to pick one up. A friend is offering me a 91 LX with a mild cam and such as what he says (but I dont believe it that much). It does need work on the body (has some nicks around) and the interior as well, just my opinion for me since I want to change pretty much everything inside (upholstery wise and few things like a 6 point cage and some nice leather works).

Now, the question is for me is to either put a Supercharger or a Twin Turbo set up? I do look at their numbers and I do like both results. I do see the torque side is definately with the turbo and horsepower wise. But is it highly reliable? I also like the numbers that the ProChargers provide as well. So this is where I am totally confusing myself. Engine wise....I do want to go with a 331 stroker with Dart block (more likely a DSS-XR Long Block or the Bennet Racing Engine) in order to support the power I want to put in and make it a daily driver as much as I can during my summer days and nice weathers (I am in MA area over by the Cape). I am looking anywhere in the 700 to 800 at the wheels. I do know what I want to do with the tranny and driveline and rears.

I just need help on your opinions around here who have experience with them on their mustangs. I am aware that there will be different feedbacks and I am not looking to have anyone to bash eachother about this please. Thanks for your concern and any help would be appreciated. :flag:

looks like you know what it takes to build a high horse power engine right the first time. I'm torn between the supercharger and turbo myself, but that won't be until next year. One thing I like about prochargers are they use seperate oiling systems, so you don't have to worry about critical failure and losing both your engine and your supercharger which could happen.

Question are you going to be doing these mods yourself or by shop? Ohh and be ready to drop a ton of $$$ into this car if you want to achieve those goals. And if you cant do it all at once then do it in stages I had to work for all my parts, but enough about me. Good luck!

I may/will (some of them willing and some can do one day or another) have a friend do it with me since I have some connections with some of the speed guys. About the money situation, it is not a concern to me since this is gonna be built from ground up through and through. Since you had to work for your parts, I am quite sure that you are really appreciative by doing so. You see, I lost my 90 Saleen :)nonono: ) due to an accident and truely miss it. But this will complete my dream that I wanted to do to my Saleen from before. I did do the engine which had the 347 and didnt like it since it was a lot of oil consumption. But it made fun power though.....:nice:

slyman,

sounds like you know what your doing. Many people on here try to make X horsepower and put it together and it blows up/has problems because they didnt spend the money so it could handle all the power.

just curious what tranny are you going to be using? I'm assuming automatic?

Ohh and since money is not a problem I would go the turbo route. A single turbo will be more than enough. Check out Hellion, HP Perforance etc for turbo kits. The nice thing about Hellion is there is no cutting except on the LX front bumper. And get a boost controller and let her fly. Good luck!

I guess you are correct when it comes to knowing what I would like to do BUT I do not plan to blow the motor up or anything cuz my head isnt stupid for that and I just have tooooo much respect for these cars or any cars that are built right and not abused like most of these younger guys do except that they race them the right way (dont mean to bash you guys but like me when I was younger, I know from my experiences). As far as tranny goes..D&D Viper T-56 for sure. I had their service before and their service was just top notch. I am playing with my head with G-Force tranny as well. It will definately be built for sure. Rear end is still making my head pounding hard, either going with Strange or Moser. More than likely siding with Moser. Havent decided on which differental I want to go. I was thinking of a NASCAR style quick change differentals. It will support a full Maximum Motorsport suspension and braces.

As far as Turbo goes...I still want to go TT set up, dunno why but my guts is telling me to go with that. The problem is that I have to follow the stinking emission rules once the car passes then I can play my game. I want to make it a daily driver with a street rod look. Everything must be comfortable, flawless and top notch for me.

if you want to go TT that go TT. Don't worry I don't abuse my stang. And the flawless and top notch is me. If it takes me alot longer than so be it, I'm a hardcore perfectionist.

For rear end, I went with Moser because they are less than strange and have the same quality. My rear end has a eaton 600 posi, 3:73's, 31 spline axels Moser, etc, the only thing stock is the housing. As far as my eaton diff I really like it way better than stock, but I have no experience with any NASCAR diffs. So I cannot speak about that.

Becareful with the manual tranny one wrong shift and boom. Just a forewarning

Im aware of that part but like I said, it will be built tranny with either the Pro 5.0 shifter or the MGW shifter. So therefor both shall keep me safe with the right set up within my prefrence of its positition to shift on the safe side. I had the 3.73 and I really like it alot but I am thinking of stepping up and try the 4.10, if I dont like it then I will step down to that 3.73 gears.

What is your suggestion of a company for me to go with the TT set up? I noticed that Vecco makes them and so does Cartech and Turbo Technology Inc. as well. The Dominator Turbo System with the twin set up that is offered from Cartech makes all that power but it says that it is designed for race cars. I am building a stout engine but do not want to kill the emission part. I dont mind all that power but I dont know if it will work out here in the state of MA.
