I'm still trying to gather parts for my paint project. What clips are going to break on my 93 Gt's molding? I've been told that there is a metal pan behind the molding? Anyone have any knowledge on this. Need as much help as possible before going to Illinois.

There are aluminum strips behind the moulding, and more than likely it s 2 sided taped on. If you don't extremely carefully remove the moulding from the car and try to reapply it the edges of said moulding will be wavy and not look quite right. Not very noticeable, but if I was putting a half decent paint job on my car I would invest in new ones from a Ford Dealer parts store if they need replaced. @$130 each

I've heard all you have to do it use a blow torch to warm up the double tape and peel the metal strip with pliers to remove it. Be careful not to roast or bubble the molding. After the metal strips are pulled flip them over and let them settle on the garage floor for a few days to flatten out. Then use double tape to reapply. That's what I plan on doing.
