Have you heard of a search engine? They are very useful and will keep you from bothering people here. Also, I bet you could find the answer to your question in minutes as opposed to waiting hours on here...

How dare you "bother" the founding member :rlaugh: :rlaugh: :rlaugh:

I would try to find a chiltons for the car.
You will need it anyway, if you use the motor.

1979 could be just about anything.

Maybe even bigger?

The Lincoln Continental Mark V was a large coupe sold by Lincoln, the Ford Motor Company's luxury division, between the 1977 and 1979 model years. The Mark V was a restyled Mark IV, replacing that car's more rounded styling with a more squared-off, sharp-edged look that was the new automotive fashion. The standard engine was now the Ford 400 in³ (6.6 L) small-block engine instead of the 460 in³ (7.5 L) Ford 385 engine, but the latter was available as an option everywhere but in California in the first two years of production.

The Mark V was tested by Germany`s leading car magazine "Auto Motor Und Sport" in 1978 and to this day (2005) holds the record as the least fuel efficient car ever tested by them, averaging no more than 7 mpg and giving only an (extrapolated) 3.5 mpg under full acceleration.

Lincoln, with the Mark V and Continental, held out for the giant American car longer than anyone else, but after 1979 it would not be possible. Ford came dangerously close to violating the Corporate Average Fuel Economy laws that year, and subsequent models would be substantially smaller.

Big Block Fox :D
Do some research out there, there is a lot of potential, for a pretty decent budget for power out of a 460 based block.. I have an 89 F250 with a 460, thats going to turn into a 513 that goes in my fox. :rlaugh:

True that...But Id investigate the motor further. If it's a 400 I wouldn't mess with it.

400 isn't a bad motor, with a H/C/I package, it would make decent power, my dad has one in his 78 F250, tows pretty decent and runs good, everyone I've talked to says it is a boat anchor, but to each their own. :)

The 460 V-8 that had propelled all Marks since 1969 was gone, leaving the 400 V-8, which was introduced in 1977, as the sole power plant.

wow that took a whole 10 seconds...
