Hi I have a job offer to move o NC and work. Wilmington area the pay will be just over $46,000 yearly. I am from NY now and things are real expensive hear, 46K here is really nothing at all, barely getting by. Anyways from looking online things seem to be real cheap down there, can anyone verify this. I seen some apartments for like $500 monthly. What is a average living expense for a singly guy. We I be able to live well for about $2,800 take home a month?

I make 42k/yr and have 1k or so/month to live off of after saving 20%, paying 650 for rent, car payment, bills, etc. and Im living in Charlotte which has a much higher cost of living than Wilmington

Oh and just so you know, yall is a word, learn it, use it :D.....its like illegal aliens coming to the US and not speaking english. You can't come to NC and not say Yall.

when did you move to charlotte 93tealterror? im in mooresville just north of charlotte.

wilmington isnt expensive at all. im sure you will be able to live pretty well down there depending on where you live.

www.carolinarides.com SC is the cheapest.. go live in lexington.. its mustang central lol no emissions no inspections and plenty of cops who just dont give a damn :D
SC is cheap I left south Florida for 2 reasons my now wife and cheaper living. For a 2 bed/bath gated appartments we pay $699 month, the 1 bed/bath run just over $500 month. So Bolt on 5.0 you should be just fine pay wise you will have to get used to the layed back living/driving in the south, I'm used to Miami traffic and here there traffic jams are like open road to me lol.

Congrats on your job offer. Sounds like good $$. It'll be a whole lot cheaper than NYC. Willmington is relatively small. There are a lot of really nice, genuine people in NC. Most people in NC like/understand cars and car-people so you'll be in a good place. I used to live in Morehead City/Atlantic Beach:nice: . If you don't like the military :)flag: ) for some reason, you might reconsider your move. Otherwise, you will probably like it there.

hey bynummustang sick property. Looks real nice man and peaceful but is there anywhere to work in your area? Im def going to move to wilmington because thats where the job offer is but NC looks nice. Might get a little bored though kind of used to the NY atmosphere

Hey Bolt on 5.0, I moved to Wilmington @ 2 months ago, moved here from IN. I LOVE it! Cost of living varies from the ocean property to the inland. Wilmington itself is kind of expensive to live in, so look outside of the metro area for housing, like Leland, Rocky Point, Burgaw, Castle Hayne, etc. Gas was $2.75/gal. this morning too. Beautiful place to live though, EVERYBODY is polite, easy going, couldn't be better! - as mentioned earlier, y'all is a word down here :D
