Ok so here is my goal, I want to make 325-350 brake horsepower. I want to do this Natural Aspirated way. I was thinking the new Typhoon Intake, P.I. Heads, and Cams, Accufab Throttle Body and Plenum, Would this setup work for that amount of brake horsepower or no?? Let me know what some good cams are also. Thanks Guys

Well I dyno'ed 292 with my PCM freaking out and pulling timing. I have ported heads stage 2 cams U/D pulleys and LT's. If you figure 15% for parasitic loss that puts me at 343 crank HP.

I think you can do it with a PI swap, cams and LT's

poerted and polished P.I. heads, cams and intake plus plenum and throttle body with a tune should do it.
+1 As far as what heads to go with I would seriously consider VT stage 2
heads or MPH stage 2 1/2 heads. Either place is very reputable and you
can't go wrong with MPH or VT. GO with the stage 2 cams they will help
you get where you want to be.The power gains of the new Typhoon intake
manifold is false and it is no better than a standard PI intake.

well that intake has to actually come out first.

you will deffinataly need:

good stage II+ ported heads (MPH, foxlake, vt, etc)

aggressive cams (vt stage II or comp 270's)

longtube headers

good midepipe

Intake mods (plenum/tb at minimum)

not this should get you over 300hp to wheels. if you add the typhoon at it is not a big POS I think you should be able to get in the 320rwhp range.

research the combo though. I would do mph stage 2.5 heads, cams, kooks longtubes, then if the typhoon actually comes out try it. it it increases you rpm range at all it will be wort it. the intake gets a bad rap around here but on a modified engine like this it may raise the rpm range a bit to take advantage of the heads and cams a bit better and give you some upper end hp you can't make on a stock engine.

This all seems like such a big hassle to make 320-350 RWHP, I am thinking I should just go the route of Superharging. I have been looking at the mongoose kit from Modular Powerhouse, would this be a better alternative?

To the ground? with no juice and boost your gunna need a lot more than that sorry:(

You will need to do the PI swap, with Ported heads, VT stage II cams, a tune, longtubes, TB+Plenum.

That may get you there. It's not as easy as you think.

I had Ported and polished PI heads and Intake, tune, gears, accufab TB+Plenum. and I was only at 250 at the wheels. This was when I had my 97GT

on a non pi car IMO it is kind of a toss up. even though it is expensive to stay N/A the gains that can be had on a non pi car are pretty impressive.

I would go the N/A route myself in your case.

what does the mongoose kit make on a non pi car? I don't think it would be much more than that.

Probably in the range of 290-300 rwhp.
