Hey Guys I found a fuel cap that will fit under the pop open cap. You
have to remove the old spring and seal from the pop open. The cap is
Napa 703-2005 part #.

Good to know. I did a search on Napa's page but it came up with nothing for that part number (their webpage isn't very good). Just last week I had the garage open and after about 10 min of the back half of my car being in the sun fuel started dripping out of my tank. After getting fuel and going up the driveway and into the garage any air in the tank moved forward so any expansion that occurred can only force fuel out.

I had my mustang painted last year and I didn't want any fuel comming
out on the new paint job. I think I tried about 6 caps before I found one
that fit it really nice. To tell you truth Im not sure what car the part #
fits but it works.

Yea

I took the pop off center off. That the peice with the spring. I ground
the center out and there is a small screw underneath the spring cap and it holds the spring in place. After I ground it down it looks like that center cap
might come off with a screwdriver or a pliars. At the time when I ground
it seemed like the only way it would come off. I also left the screw in
and adjusted back against the new cap to take up the play in the pop up
lid.

Hope this helps.

To tell you truth Im not sure. If you look at the filler neck right were the
rubber meets it on the cap there is a dimple there. I beleive that is there for a vent
because its not a total seal. I drove my car about 25 miles with it and
didn't have any engine problems and everything seemed good.
