Anyone here running a Nitrous Express 75 or 100hp jets on a stock engine?
Are you making good numbers with the NX kit? What was your experience
with NX... opnions? Where is a good place to get to get a Nitrous
Express kit? Will a stock bottom end really hold up running 100hp jets or
more just wondering??

I know of 2 cars here local that run the NX kit and they love it. I dont know about numbers though. I think MM&FF did an article about the kit and claimed huge gains in torque. More than normally seen with a nitrous application.

I don't know. I've heard people say that in stock form, our engines can support a 100 shot, but I don't think I would do it. The setup I'm going to have soon is high compression and ideal for nitrous, and I'm still afraid to spray it. Even if it CAN support it, the wear on the engine will surely still be WAY higher than normal.

It can support it. Stock GT internals are good to 400-425rwhp. If you blow it on juice or boost below that range, it wasn't tuned right or there was other things causing detonation.

Nitrous doesn't cause 'wear'. It blows, or it holds. The only 'wear' you might see is from running the wrong sparkplugs or not retarding the timing per n2o jetting.

I agree with Triggz it's detonation, not retarding the timing correctly,
or having a bad tune is what will ruin your engine.Unless there is something wrong with your engine to begin with.I use to have NOS 75hp jets on my
old car (92 GT) and I never had a problem. It all comes down to the user really depending on if your engine will last or not.I plan on running nothing more than 100hp jets on my current car (96 GT) if I decide too with all the saftey equitment. I would like some more info though. Thanks

Well I'm not too keen on the wet nitrous cuz of our intakes... but i know for my car i was runnin a 100 dry shot. Had a GREAT tune and with the STOCK Injectors i made 364 rwhp and 465 rwtrq. I felt much safer running the dry than the wet and i was able to spray at 2500 which gave me a GREAT launch spot on the spray for my car.

I bought a MMR 900 blcok with ARP everything Port Stg 3 heads and a Comp Cam Stg 3 and High Compression (11.2:1) notched pistons. Goin to spray a 100-150 shot of dry nitrous on it. All motor it should be around 400 rwhp and with the spray it should be well over 500 rwhp and we don't know about trq. Any questions PM me and I'll be glad to give details or let you know how the progress of the motor is coming along. Should be under it's own pwoer Jue 1st.

i love my nitrous express kit and im using the 100 shot. i just got stock tune but i did change the spark plugs and always have a clean fuel filter on it. after about 4 years no problem at all. my gain on a NPI stang was 94rwhp and 168rwtq on a 100shot

I like the Nitrous Express kit the most because they rate
their nitrous kit at the wheels. All I here about from people running their kits is that they get insane amounts
of torque! Yes, the only thing that makes me not want
to run nitrous is are weak plastic intake manifolds. One
mistake and it go's kaboom. That's why I am thinking about getting a Bullitt intake or something for peace of
mind.

well guys i have a 100 shot on my car and it works pretty good. only had for a week now and i like it. It is a wet kit, as far a hp i dont know but did go to the track and mph was 107mph. Pretty good compaired to 98mph on motor.

On my compucar dry system with a 100 shot i picked up 97rwhp and 155 rwtrq, and i went from trapp'n 99.7 in the 1/4 to trapp'n 118.9mph in the 1/4. I still have stock rear end in it... I am also weary about the manifold that is why i stuck with a dry and and i LOVE it! Properly tuned it's just as safe and hits JUST AS HARD as a wet kit... i've had both and much perfer the dry kit for our cars...the next step for me will be a Direct Port kit from NX... it will always be my favorite.

My 01 GT has 80K on it and 2 years with a NX EFI kit. I stepped up to a 150 shot from a 100 last year with no problems. I must add that the car has a awesome dyno tune by a tuner that knows how to tune a nitrous car. Numbers will vary from dyno to dyno but I've seen 423rwhp and 550rwtq on a Dynojet. My E.T.'s amd MPH back these numbers up also:D

That's great to hear good numbers man.I think I am going to
to run the NX EFI kit with a 100hp jets since I found a reputable place to
get the nitrous kit from.I will only be useing it at the track though.

Alright people man up!!!! You can run 150 shot safey. Make sure you have a 255 walbro fuel pump. Your stock block can handle 475rwhp but it won't last long. Keep your rwhp at 430-450 but run 430rwhp.

There are 2 ways people really blow there motor off of NOZZZZZ Lol to much of it and your fuel solenoid breaks and the nitrious is still being sprayed. When that happens you run lean and your piston goes bye. What you should do get a Wide Band a/f gauge and when your spraying it watch it. If you start running lean shut down. The gauge is $350 dollars, AEM has it.

Things you need:
MSD window switch
Full throttle switch
NJK plugs TR6s
255 pump
and if you like progressive controller.

Yes , you can run a 150 shot....safely?....I don't know, but I've done it a couple of years now with a damn good tune. However, I would not recommend it until you've maxed out your combo at 100 shot....then if you're still hungry, spray away:flag: BTW....the mentioned 255 Walbro won't last long on a 99+ return style system:nono:
