Well here goes cause I've just been given the green light.
I wrecked my stang coming home from school last year. Long story short a woman in a tahoe wasn't paying attention and whipped out in front of me at the last second. Because no evidence exists saying who was at fault guess what? No one's insurance is going to pay for it. The issue is dead and gone however I have been given the green light by the wife to fix it. The damage I am most concerned with is the brace that the radiator bolts to. I have no name for it. In description it forms a box around the engine that the bumper, headlight bracked and front part of the fenders bolt to. It's bent quite a bit, I would estimate 2 or 3 inches towards the firewall. Does anyone know how expensive these are or if I can have it straightened. I appologize for not having pics...

The rad. core support is the front peice that goes across the front of the car, both fenders attach to it. The rad. is bolted to it along with the A/C condenser. There is a plastic peice that the headlights bolt to that fits on the opposite side (from the damage described this is prob. also broke) its called the headlight header panel.

damn few bucks cheaper and prob. the same part.:nice:

Not too bad either way on price, shipping would prob. be nice to see and compare (depending on location). I think fairly important body panels like that at those prices is very good and will be hard to top.

Thanks a lot guys, I'm hoping I can slide in a few motor parts as well (under the radar of course) thinking tfs heads and their street heat intake to top it off... So far the only headache has been the airbags... everything else seems to be under 200 bucks...

Airbags are RE TAR DED in price. Like what 1k each or some crap.

Airbags are a tell tail sign of a "total" like 98-99% of the time if they go off its a total. For the cost of replacement and possible damage (thought is well it was hit hard enough to make them go off what else is FUBAR) from the force needed to deploy them.

i assume you have never been in a wreck where the airbags did their job. ill tell you from experience, id much rather hit an airbag than a steering wheel.

bad assumption.

i was in an accident where my freind rear ended a car at 40 mph ( i was in the passengers seat). my freind came out of it with a broken nose, and his face split open from the air bag. i have also gone off a highway offramp at 70mph and rolled about 5 times (again, not me driving). if you wear your seatbelt you will be good most of the time. besides, if i ever crash my car it will most likely be at a speed where no restraint system will save me.

i also dont want to get in a tiny little fender bender and have my airbags go off. personal preference.

my moms airbag ruptured when it deployed when she got t-boned, the chemical used to inflate them gave her chemical burns all on her arms and part of her neck too.

When I overturned my old Acura, I didnt have airbags, and I rolled at 45 mph, I will admit the seatbelt saved my life, but I dont see how the airbag could have assisted any, I came out with some cuts and bruises and whiplash, nothing the airbag could prevent.

I copped the Cobra steering wheel airbag off of Ebay ($235 shipped) and the passenger side airbag from a salvage yard in Massachusetts ($250 shipped. If you want the number let me know. It was hard to find that Cobra steering wheel airbag though.

Oh, by the way, I have a gray GT steering wheel airbag I need to sell. If you need let me know.:nice:

everything but the airbags you can fix for fairly cheap all and all considered. How are the fenders? do you have pics that would could see and try to let you know what needs to be replaced/fixed
