knock/ping/engine thing, but it went away because i cant hear it over the exhaust now it is probably there, but it does not bother me since i cant hear it. i was told twice that its normal. if i have a tranny problem down the line, it is documented a few times. i have less than 15,000 miles on the clock now. should be plenty for a warranty claim down the line.Bloody Guts said:just to clarify... the sound that went away... was it the hollow buzzing metallic sound, or the knock/ping/engine thing?
mine's driving me nuts (hollow buzzing metallic sound) I was missing the bell housing bolts like many others, but the noise is still there, although i'm not sure that the bolts fixed it
i just don't want to hassle with the dealer unless i have to

I noticed this while underneath the car. At first I thought the noise was coming from the engine. Now I realize that the niose is coming from the bell housing. Like a knocking or tapping noise. Took the stethescope to the bell housing and you can hear it. You can't here it though the engine. The noise does not change with the clutch in or out. The noise goes away with RPM. THe noise is not always there. Any ideas?
I am pretty sure that I had the same noise on my car, it was like a light tapping or almost like a clicking noise from the bellhousing area at idle clutch in or out. My Dad also had a manual 06 GT that has the same noise. My noise went away when I changed the clutch in my car. I can't say that it is for sure what is wrong with your car it's just my experiance.
The clutch is only under warrenty for 12 months or 12,000 mile which ever comes first.
Best of luck in getting it fixed
