SLP LM1 or LM2 and do you need a Tune?...

I have the SLP Loud Mouth exhaust on my car. I like it, you don't need a tune for it. I just wish you guys would refer to the SLP axlebacks correctly, which are the "Loud Mouth" and "PowerFlo" and not this LM1 and LM2 bull****.

You may be right and you may be wrong. Per a StangNet post there are two versions of the Loudmouth pipe from SLP, neither of which is the Power-Flo. Below is a link to the post and below that is a link referenced in the post that points to rpmoutlet that claims to sell both versions and shows the difference between the two. LM1 being basically a straightpipe and LM2 being slightly muffled. Based on posts I have read from guys that have both versions, there are two versions of the LM. Not quite the bullshirt you think it is, no?

Let me know if i am wrong because i will soon be buying LMs and i dont want straightpipes as Midas can make me some a lot cheaper.:SNSign:

Is your thread regarding Mufflers or the SLP Axleback kits?

The link you provided shows LM Mufflers for 99 - 04 Mustangs. SLP has 2 axleback kits for the 05+ Mustang, the LMs and the PowerFlos. As far I know, they are not offering the LM Mufflers for the 05+ cars yet.

Then it appears for this model year you are correct. I thought you meant SLP did not make two versions of the LM. So do you know if the LM pipes for 05-06 are straightpipes or are they the slightly muffled version? I need to know as why pay $300+ for straightpipes. Thanks.

get the lm-1's they arent really that loud until you smash it.....trust me i had the lm-2's and i was disappointed in my opinion....sounded good but not enough "bark" for me....i love my lm-1's straight pipes are the way to go....i get alot of good comments on it....

I just got off the phone with SLP and they explained there are two versions of the LM pipe but only the LM1 is currently available for the 05-06 Mustang. The LM1 pipes are as described by SlP purely a straightpipe. They claim the power-flos are like an LM2 but i bet a lot more restrictive than the LM2 design. i am going to have plain straightpipes or bombs put on mine tomorrow and will post before and after clips. I can get bombs for $150 installed but don't want junky cherry bombs on my car so i think i am going straightpipes. Thanks:nice:

I've got the LM1's, they do tend to pop a bit when it's cold and I throttle it a bit, but I love it. My two-year-old daughter loves it too! I get lots of compliments when I autocross the car.

I just got my car back (minus the mufflers) and i cannot say how pleased I am. Hell, to be honest it is not near as loud as i thought it would be. For those of you out there wondering, don't waste your time buying Loudmouths, straightpipes are pretty much the same thing and out the door (no tips but i will get some) $85..........:jaw:

I'm telling ya, save several hundred dollars and just get rid of the mufflers. With a nice H or X pipe without cats it might be a bit too loud and lack any backpressure but this is about the cheapest exhaust mod one can do when it comes to the sound you get. I will post some before and after sound clips tonight. Plus my wife will never try to drive my mustang again, too loud.:nice:
