Uneven Rear Brake Wear

Sorry to invade, but no one seems to look at the V6 forums anymore, so I'll steal some expertise from you guys. Brakes are brakes :)

Went to change my rear brakes yesterday, and two of the 8 brake pad clips were broken, so I had to leave it up overnight till I can get some new clips. Because of the delay, I was looking at the old pads, and noticed that the inside drivers side pad was noticeably more worn than the outer pad. Not by a HUGE amount, but noticeable.

I plan on inspecting, cleaning, and lubricating the calipers/pins before I re-assemble tomorrow, but I'd like to fix the uneven wear if possible to extend the life of my pads. Is there anything special I should be doing and/or looking for? Do I NEED to replace the pins, or should cleaning/lubricating be enough? I don't know if the rear brakes have ever been changed on the car, and even if they have it was after a lot of mileage, so things are pretty dirty in there. Since Im getting the brake hardware kit anyway for the clips, I believe that comes with new boots for the caliper pins (Not sure yet, the guy at NAPA had to get it sent from the warehouse).

the inner pad would wear more being that it is inline directly with the caliper piston. It is pretty common for the inners to wear a little more but not by a significant ammount. Just make sure the pins are clean. Remove them, clean them, and grease them and you should be fine.

The inners should wear slighty more than the outers because that is where all of the pressure is applied. If there is excessive wear, the capliper is usually been stuck in the same spot for thousands of miles. Now, if the wear pattern is uneven or spotty than there is something wrong.

Here is what I mean by uneven wear:

You don't need to replace the slide pins unless they are marked up or bent. Use a fair amount of brake cleaner and then regrease.
