As far as I know, there are no pins. > > >
They just mount with tape ... both of them.

like I said. "As far as I know, there are no pins"

but you can go to a Ford Dealership and check it out in their parts book if you need more convincing evidence.

I done the same thing to my GT, lose the GT and get some retro on there! Makes people look twice until they see your taillights and dual exhaust tips.

How hard is it to get the old GT emblem off? My main concern is scratching the paint while getting the old one off. I had been thinking about doing the same thing for a while now.

It's not too bad. Heat it up with a hair dryer (might even be able to leave it out in the hot sun) Once the "tape" on the back of the emblem is hot enough, you should be able to slowly pull the emblem off with your fingertips. If it doesn't want to come off you can always use some type of prybar (screwdriver) as long as you use a a rag or something to keep from scratching the paint.

Whatever you do, DON'T use the dental floss or fishing line method. That leaves a LOT of the tape still on the car.

Pulling it off by hand only leaves a little glue residue and none of the tape. The residue can be cleaned off with WD-40 or Goo-Gone.

I agree, use a lifting method and you should be fine.
