What you all didn't get the special edition r model with the turbo charged rotary engine with pistons and stuff. :rlaugh:

Really though most of the people that ask that kind of question aren't gear heads they know what others have told them. So just look them square in the eyes and go "Keep it quiet but No it ain't a 5.0 I got a cammer in it." See most of this uninformed idiots have in fact heard of the "cammer" ford had.

Last weekend me and a guy meet up so he could get some parts. I was in my mustang he was in his fox body. Stupid kid walks by and comments on how fast the foxbody is and how powerful it is and how I don't want none of it. Meanwhile I run at least 4tenths quicker than the foxbody. :rlaugh:

Cuh-lassic vid.

Yeah I know the 5.0 is legendary at this point so most of the time when I tell people I race it's best if I leave my times out of it. These people seem to think that 5.0's ran like 12's off the floor and Corvette's they must run like 10's right? I've had people seem unimpressed when I say that this year I should be running in the 12's.

It reminds me of the last Rocky movie.

Don King looking guy talking to Tommy Gunn: "As long as they've got Balboa(5.0) on the brain he'll always be champ. The man(car) fought wars in the ring(track)!

I still get that every once in a while, usually at a gas station, somebody will ask if it is a 5.0 and when I say no a 4.6, they usually say I shoulda got a 5.0. I'm like nah, 5.0s are slow, I like this one just fine, and when I start it up they give me this like WTF look. :)
:nice:

They need to drop one of these in the new Mustangs...

Yea no sh1t man people are always asking me if I have the 5.0...and the worst thing is people always ask my friend if he does and he has those 4.6 badges on the side of his car

Ford is missing out on the marketing opportunity of a lifetime by not boring the 3v 4.6 to 5.0l. The 5.0 is synonymous with Mustang and the thoughts of a new 5.0 would attract buyers. Give it about 325 - 350 bhp and make it the base GT engine and offer an LX package as well. Then offer a N/A 4v 5.4 in a Mach 1/Boss/GT350 package with at least 375 bhp and gobs of torque. The Ford GT heads should get it there easily. The 2008-09 refreshening would be the perfect time to launch these with the Camaro and Challenger coming out.

heck, they could have lied and said the new 05+ GTs had 5.0s in them. the old 5.0s werent really 5.0 anyway..........4.999 as i recall. would people really go and find out it was only 4.6? or is there other reasons they cant do that? i guess its sort of mis advertising but still.

Whenever I get that 'Oh.' disappointed sound after telling someone its a 4.6, I always explain that the 4.6 made the exact same power in the same rpm range as the 5.0 when it came out in 96, and in 99 made an ADDITIONAL 45hp, and now makes even 40 more than THAT!

Combined with better fuel and emissions efficiency..let that tired 5.0 rest.
