Pats security system problem!

Ford has a customer service 800 number, you should call it. Maybe they will hook you up because of the bad service that dealership gave you...

Also, try a different dealership.

ford will not do anything for him over a aftermarket alarm.. Plus it's a cash job.. if ford did not pay for the repair they don't care what the dealer does.

those alarms the sales dept. sells you when you buy your car are aftermarket.. ford does not make alarms for the dealer to install.. in fact the alarms are installed by alram companies not the dealers and for the most part the quality of there work sucks.. I am strongly against any type of aftermarket alarm or remote start unless you install it yourself..

and by the way... no mechanic or tech will acept a customers diag.. even if you diag the car I charge 1 hour or more labor if you want a guarantee on that work.. many times I have people come in requesting parts replaced based on a fiffy lube or autozone diag and 99 times out of 100 it's wrong.

so if you diag it and only pay for install it's on you if thats not the problem.

Sorry this cracked me up.

That was my intention ..... :)

Streetmaster, you didn't end up paying 1,200 did you?

That sux that they ghetto fixed it but at least you can start your ride now.

FWIW, I used to work at a Chevrolet dealership and they wouldn't work on aftermarket alarms either.

Up hear, Ford sells dealer installed alarms and remote starters. The Module has Ford written on them and they even come with the Ford 3 year warranty. They are made by Code Alarm for Ford. You can actually add it to your car while pricing it online. I guess Ford USA doesn't offer it .

The manual says ford, the part has a ford logo on it, the key fob says ford on it, and the wiring harness says ford on it.

So it must not be a Ford. Also i am that 1 out of 100, who actually knows my car. This is the 4th SN-95 mustang i have had, Words can not explain how pissed off i am at this incompetence :bang: at 9:01 am it is going down.

when I think of FORD stuff I think of what came on the car at the factory.. not add-on stuff.. Maybe I should have been more clear about that. Sure I have seen many of those alarms with ford writen on it.. still is not a factory ford part, those alarms are sold at my work and installed by a aftermarket alarm company.. in fact we don't have diagrams for them.

If you want I can e mail you the factory wiring diagrams for every model line and option for your car and you will not find that alarm in there, because it is not a factory part.

we techs are not supplied with wiring diagrams for it in our shop manuals becuase it's not really a ford item.. it's a add-on aftermarket part, that I am strongly against adding to any car. take a look under the dash of a car with a alram and you will see why

who are you getting pissed at? who are you saying does not know your car? I hope you are not talking about me or any of the other members... If you mean the dealer I don't blame you on that.

BTW you have a PM from me.

 I'm a little confused on this. We have all the wiring diagrams, we even had the course given at the Ford training center. All the parts are also listed in Fords computer system with all other Ford parts. We also install it at the dealer only.

I'm not trying to dispute your claims by the way, just letting you know that up here we've had all the info and support for about 4 years on these things.

we do not at any of the ford dealers I have worked at.. I have worked at 4 different ford dealers. maybe ford of canada has different ways they handle alarms.. atleast in my region they do not see to have as much of a direct involvment. all our alarm stuff is sent out to a company called micorp.

If not, i have the wiring diagrams provided with the alarm.

I meant the dealer.

I have this same alarm, mine chirps when you unlock it, its deactivating the kill switch that came with the alarm. I have had ocassions where it doesn't not chirp when you unlock the car, but it still deactivates the kill switch. I am not a huge fan of it. I don't know where the alarm was put in, because the guy i bought it from had the alarm in there. He actually worked for ford in dearborne michigan. There should be a button on the left side driver kick sil, past the hood opener which disarms the kill switch if you press it while you turn the key, this is good if you loose or don't have a key FOB. It took me a while to figure out what this button was for. All this is assuming you have the same alarm setup as me, it sounds like you do though.
