Roush Front Plate Mount?

Well, this was bound to happen...

Got pulled over for speeding...less than a block from my house!

Good news - got away with a warning, I told the cop how fast I was going. He appreciated my honesty and "politeness". (Who says nice guys finish last?)

Anyway, I got a 5-day fix it ticket for no front plate. (I also have to remove my SALEEN licence plate frame, it blocks too much of my month/year registration stickers!)

Anyone have pics of how they've mounted theirs?

I'd appreciate some help...not sure what I can do to make this work without messing up my front end!

Thank you in advance,

Tony

There is a bracket that mounts to the heat exchanger but I am not sure who makes it.Maybe someone can post a link. That way you won't need to drill holes in the bumper.I have been ticketed twice in 3 1/2 years myself for not having one. It's a stupid law anyway. The cop is always behind you when he pulls you over.

......Tony, just use double-sided 3M tape to temporarily mount for the inspection :p

The license plate law is simple, and should apply to all states (I believe) It says; If your state provides you with two plates, you shall display both. Depending on how picky your inspection stations are, they usually require a front plate, as it is an easily spotted violation. Cops can spot the missing plate a mile away, as you already know. Plates are required to be permanently affixed (read:bolted on) as well. No 3M tape, gum or bailing wire, lol. Usually you can come up with something creative, to mount the plate low, or inconspicuously, so it doesn't ruin your appearance. Good luck!

How about you sew on a "clear custom plate pocket" to a Saleen "front end cover" I didn't think it was to bad of an idea...works great for bugs around MN/WI lakes too:nice:

Years ago I was pulled over by a local yokel in my brand new '82 Mustang GT for not having a front license plate. The officer was a real prick but he didn't write me up; he just proceeded to lecture me in a truly arrogant manner, attempting to intimidate me into compliance. Needless to say I ignored him & I haven't installed a front plate on any of my vehicles for over 20 years.

Anyway, California announced a couple of years ago that they were going to begin actively enforcing their two plate laws after decades of ignoring it. However, I have yet to be cited for not having a front plate on either mine or my wife's vehicles.

I'd recommend exactly what others have said; e.g. temporarily mount it with velcro or similar attachments for the inspection & remove it for daily usage.

And also avoid getting caught again for speeding or other moving violations. :p
