White Letter tires on our cars???

It's hard to ignore the term because it is thrown around too much these days. I've seen tinted taillights called rice on these forums before, the stock taillights too, not euro ones.

People tend to misuse the term and just use it to describe any mod they don't personally like.

I concur

I don't really see how small details such as putting a little paint in the lettering of a tire should be called rice....I don't see why any one mod can make a car "ricey"....I consider cars that are way over the top "ricers"....not cars that have one or two mods that I don't like....I think looking for little details to add to a car is actually the best thing we can do to stand out without ruining the car's overall appearance

In my book the yellow painted letters are ricey. Obviously you have a different opinion. I never said anything about any specific car being rice. All I said was they sell different colored pens to paint your tires with, and I think it is ricey. Why don't you just ignore the term rice if you don't like it?

HOW??? so are the tires nascar uses rice?:notnice:

I think the use of raised white letting on the tires depends entirely on the rims you use and the side wall size. On old school Craigers it looks bad ass. On Cobra rims with low profile tires I doubt it would look good....

The term rice doesn't bother me when used in correct context. What gets me are all the ricey Altezza tail lights that are called euro even though European cars weren't the first ones to put lights like that on at the factory. :notnice:

As for the colored letters, I agree that the wheel definately would make a difference. Like with the pictured Bullitt, it looks good with those wheels, but I really doubt they would on my FR500s. It's like having a mullet and driving a '78 Camaro vs. a Ferrari....some things just look right together and some :nonono:

I agree. The painted letters would look nicer on a more retro styled wheel like the bullitts I think. But I really need to see more pics of Mustangs with colored lettering to be sure. It might actually look good with your wheels, maybe red lettering to match your paint.

When I get my paint pen and do my tires i'll post some pics. I'm actually thinking of going with more old styled taller tires the next time I have to buy new rubber. These low profile tires look kinda tiny on the mustang in my opinion.
