Not a Mustang, but a great car nonetheless...

Most of you have seen me on here from time to time and I was waiting for the last three years to get a GT500, but in the end the GT500 cost/performance ratio just didnt do it for me. I changed my mind and bought a new 2006 GTO instead. I still love Mustangs completely and will surely own one again, but for right now the GTO definitely has a place in my heart now. It is a great drive and the interior is great for a sports car. I chose the automatic for all the Austin city driving I do and the upcoming family, but it is still very fun to drive and I wont miss holding the clutch in all the time and sitting at lights and behind cars. Of course I have pics. Hopefully 2009-2010 will have another great Mustang for me to buy again...

Finally pictures of my new 2006 GTO we got yesterday. My wife just sent me pics of the new car (I wasnt there to get the car and wont be able to drive the car till I return from out of town in MA on July 1st). She's gorgeous (Yes, the wife too)!!! My wife rocks! :)

I will be installing a full carputer system in it on July 8th, so I hope to show that worklog soon for anyone interested. It will be Mac Mini based running Windows performing the following functions: bluetooth cell phone, dvd playback, gps navigation, radio, tv tuner, broadband internet, etc.

Nice Ride! :nice:
I read Motor Trend's last issue, and the magazine stated that the GTO is one of the most under-rated Sport vehicles on the Market right now! Motor Trend said that the GTO has Great Performance for a very affordable price; a true "Bang for your Buck"!!!
Good Luck with the GTO; it looks Great! :D

Looks great. Any performance upgrades on the horizon?

I do plan on some upgrades in her future, but for right now I am just going to enjoy it as it is right now. She is good to go right now and in time I am sure I will add some great power adders. Everyone knows how well the engine is capable of great changes.

Beautiful car. I wanted one but growing up on a diet of Hot Rod it did not feel right buying a Holden Monaro renamed a GTO with some slight changes. My Dad would kick me for doing his Judge a disservice. Kind of like the Charger, I drove it, I liked it, but it is not a charger. It looks entirely too different from what a Charger looked like to call it a Charger.:(

It looks like they have the right idea with the Challenger though, first remake musclecar I have seen since the 05 Stang that looks like it's older brother.:nice:

contact Doc GTO, he should be able to provide you with some great links for your GTO.

Does he really need an introduction? :) He has a great GTO and I am sure I will be looking into some of the stuff he has already done down the line.

Anthony05GT: I dont know man, where are you?

Thanks everyone else, I havent had much time to drive one (drove one up here in MA for a test drive) so I will just have to wait till I get home to actually drive the car my wife picked up for me. It's really killing me to have that at home and have 2 more weeks left out of town. ARGHH!

Hey Bud, congrats on the new Goat. I had 2 of them. I never had an 05 or 06, so yours looks a lot cooler than mine did. Mine was kind of bland. A couple of sites for you to check out.. ls1gto.com newagegto.com and gtoforum.com One of the complaints with the autos was the torque management system, so you may want to look into getting a tune. With headers and a tune, along with an airbox and you could probably pull 360 or more to the tire. Thats my best guess, I haven't been on the gto board in a while. Been too busy hanging out in here. The ls1 with the six speed is the only part I miss about my GTO. Now if they made a mustang with an ls1 and a 6spd, that would be one badass ride. Good luck with your new ride.
