So, lately, I've been hanging around with the wrong crowd. Specifically, my friend Jeff who did a Twin Turbo '89 GT a few years ago. Now I've been thinking about what I really want to achieve with my car. Originally, I had planned on a *hopefully* high 11 second N/A Mustang that could double as a daily driver. The way I was planning on achieving this was with a .030" over 302, with AFR 165's and all of the supporting mods (cam, intake, higher compression), a close ratio T-56, gears, and a full suspension.

Now that I've been looking into the Twin Turbo crowd, I'm starting to get intrigued. I like the idea of more power. I also like that a high power TT car has better street manners than a high power N/A car.

Things I don't like are that I know that I would build it with enough power to necessitate a roll cage. I didn't really want a roll cage, but could be convinced if I could hide it or make it inconspicuous.

i agree, go twin turbo, or single turbo....im very happy with my car, and its very easy to keep the boost low, then turn it up when you want with a boost controller. For example my car, i have been only running 5lbs of boost(only because i had a bad boost controller), however i plan on turning it up to about 10 or so.

My car drives like stock(minus the cam i have installed)....but it drives very nice, and it has the punch when you get on it. Another positive is that you get great gas miledge if you stay out of the boost.

This Jeff guy sounds really really smart. I bet he is good looking too. I bet his twin turbo 89 is the coolest car in the world.

I think you should twin turbo it. Put a cage in and have fun.

Yeah, he's a pretty smart guy. I can't really say anything about his looks, I'm not into guys. I also can't speak for the coolness of the twin turbo 89 because the bastid hasn't taken me for a ride in it yet. :D

You know, I think you and this "Jeff guy" would get along real well. You both have twin turbo 89 GTs and SVT Contours and stock Contour daily drivers. What a coincidence.
