So today im goin to work and im sitting at a stoplight and i heard the loping sound of what sounded like a rice burner on steroids. I turn around and there sits the most badass looking viper ive ever seen in my life. It was blue and white and it had nice looking 20' wheels on it (vipers and vettes are the only cars that can get away with 20's in my book) This old man and his wife were driving it and it sounded like he must have had some radical cam in it cause it was loping and it sounded horrible! It sounded like some honda civic with the worst sounding muffler ive ever heard, i guess it was because it was a v10 but geez it sounded awful, the lope was cool but the exhaust note was ear piercingly horrid.

So anyway I rev'd at him and he rev'd back and he drove off and it really left me wondering why a v10 would sound so horrid...

b/c he didnt do and aftermarket crossover pipe, which left it sounding like two wicked i-5 engines. That is a must do mod on the viper imo.

x2... Those are VERY sick sounding engines with the right exhaust setup.

The factory setup can begin to sound like ass when you factor in some other engine work.

But when ya do it right...:hail2:

I wouldnt say Viper suck either, they are quite a work of art IMO.

Do you live in Houston by any chance?

We have a older guy with a viper around where I live, and I finally got on the same side of the road as he was goin and gave him a little rev. I don't know if his exhaust was stock, but it was atleast two times louder than mine and sounded sick as hell.

first of all i live in fort worth. The thing sounded exactly like a 4 cylinder with horrid muffler like i said.. The car sounded fast but it just didnt sound like i would have expected a viper to sound like, i would have expected a viper to sound like a mean sick soundin v8 on steroids

The Vipers/SRT10's just have a different sound. Its a more exotic sound unlike a V8 but like Squares said when done right they can sound really nasty just like our cars. I'll take a crappy exhaust note in exchange for 500 hp/tq stock anyday.

This one time, a viper pulled up next to me, and we both took off and I was pulling way ahead of him, I mean lengths and lengths....then I woke up. It was really ****ing depressing.

Same thing happened to me, except I wasnt sleeping... and I was in my 4x4 Jeep.

Then his tires hooked up and he blew past me like I was being fired out of a cannon in reverse.
