original plan was 306 ( see sig ) with AFR 185s and TFS 2 cam. if i stick to the 306 idea, i may go to the TFS 1. apparently the TFS 2 is too big.

if i use the TFS 1 with 1.7 rockers, will that increase the duration and lift? if so, how much? increase power? essentially making it a bigger cam? more lope?

or does the 1.7s "tone it down" ? making the the duration/lift less?

next question: is the 1.7s physically bigger than 1.6s? if so, will the 1.7s clear stock height valve covers??

thanks guys

the equation to get the lift for 1.7 rockers vice 1.6 is as follows

advertised lift / 1.6 x 1.7 = New lift w/1.7 rockers

so if my lift was 564 with 1.6 rockers, i would divide 564 by 1.6 which is 352 and then multiply it by 1.7 which equates to 599

Its not that the stg 2 cam is "too big" b/c thats far from it. Its that its wrong for the application.

Go custom to really make those heads work good. Though a street heat intake will restrict them from working as good as they can.

Those Heads are perfect for a 306.

the TFS 1 lift with 1.6 is INT.499 EX .510 and the same cam with 1.7 the lift goes up to INT .530 EX .541 the iddle is going to be the same but maybe you get a little more RPM's and physically they look the same!

Yes, changing the rockers changes nothing but the lift of the intake/exhaust.
