Wondering if someone can tell me if I missed something.........I put new rear brake pads on my 98 gt. On my test drive which was about a mile of slow speed and light braking all seemed well. Brakes felt good. When I got in the driveway they were smoking pretty bad out of both sides. So whatever I ****ed up, I did it on both sides. Everything come off easily, everything went back together easily. The pistons in the calipers srcewed in ok, I reused the clips from the old brakes...........WTF did I do wrong ???

Yup, both pins need to move. Pull them out, clean them up and regrease. It's a VERY common problem. If one is siezed, then it's putting pressure on one pad. A common symptom of this prob is when you take your old pads out and one is worn down more than the other.

A new bracket from Ford is about $40 each side.

Thanks for the info guys. I still cant get the pin out, so its off to autozone tomorrow for brackets and pins. Im sure they will ass rape me for at least a c-note............Thanks again guys:nice:
