Ok, so my friend with a 2000 trans am says his car will dominate my car in a race. But he wont race me. I want to know if he is just talking, or is he right.

My car: 2005 GT mustang
Steeda Cold Air Intake Kit, re-flashed with the X calibur.

My friends: 2000 Trans am
Ram Air

I would have to put my money on the TA.....sorry

My friend has a 1999 Trans Am with Ram air. I'd have to say it's a driver's race. When my car was stock it was basically whoever got the best launch. On the highway it was whoever got the jump. One time we dropped at the same time and stayed nose to nose with each other from 65 mph to 140 mph, so from my personal experience, it's a driver's race. Although you have a tune so that may give you the edge. He's probably afraid he'll lose

I ran a GTO with the 6.0 LS2. I beat him twice, by a car length and a half with the mods that I have. LS engines are awesome his car will problaby beat yours with the mods that you have. But it will be a drivers race.

GTOs neva lose . . .:D

J/K What does your car pull at the track??

On the 2000 WS6 - :Track: and find out!!!

If his car is stock, go for it and see what happens. If his car is modded, you're in for some trouble. I've got both, 99 trans am modded, and 06 mustang with an exhaust. My Trans am would destroy my stang, however its not stock. Don't get me wrong, my stang is quick. I think you're best bet is gonna be 0 to 60. The ls1 off the line with stock gears bogs if not launched properly. I probably wouldn't race from a roll at 60 or 70. Ls1 pulls hard in the top end.

Ok, sorry for a delay in posts. I don't know of any tracks around here but Me and my friend took our cars down a long highway. 2 days before the race, I put in some Flowmasters and reprogrammed the computer. So I think I am pushing out like 380 rwhp?

First Race, I'd say 1/4 mile, I totally destroyed him. I am talking about a 2-3 car lead.
Second Race, I had a little bit more trouble, but still managed a 2 car lead.
Thrid Race was about the same as the first, so it is all good.

Me and my friend both suck at shifting. This is my first car and I'm still learning to shift. Any help with racing would be helpful for future endeavors.

He is saying that with only and intake, tune, and flowmasters you aren't pushing 380 rwhp probably between 280-290 rwhp. So I think we are assuming you accidentally type 3 instead of a 2.

The only way for you to get that 380 rwhp is if you installed the flowmasters AND a supercharger before your race :rlaugh:
