electric window

hey guys my passenger window has a mind of its own. for the past month now it decides when it wants to roll up or down. right now it wont roll up. however when i press the button to roll it up the battery gauge moves. what can i do to fix this? or how can i get my window to roll up for now until i can buy a new motor if i need one that is.

If your volt meter is moving when you hit the switch then the window motor is trying to do its job but something in there is stopping it from doing so. Could be stripped out gears in the motor assembly or just real dry bushing. I think you have to pull the door panel and get a better look.

i am also having a stupid problem with my electric windows. My drivers side switch will not control the pass side window!! Sometimes it will work to make the window go down but never to make it go up?! whats the procedure for getting the door panel off and getting at the switches? thanks

You dont need to remove the door panel to expose the switches. You can just remove the screw on the black plate that surrounds the swtiches and then they'll pry out of the arm rest. To remove the door panel you should have a removal tool so you dont ruin the panel. 50Resto sells the tools as do most parts stores. Its basically a screw driver with a 45 degree bend at the end and the end is "Y" shaped to get around the attaching clips.
