My tko 500 has about 2300 miles on it, at high rpm's and a hard shift 2nd and 4th will grind. At all other rpm's it seems fine but when I'm really running it, those two gears grind. I probably wasn't as good to it on the initial break in as I should have been and ran it 5 times this spring at the strip with about 1700 miles on it, I just couldn't wait evedentaly. Will more wear maybe fix it or should I go on and pull it back out and replace those to sycronizers now before it really messes up something?

hmmm, not sure what to tell you, but can say that I have a similar issue. But its nothing to do with my rpm, half the time shifting into 4th grinds a LITTLE. Its barely anything. My TKO is over 2 years old and plenty of miles. Its NEVER gotten worse, so, im just not worried about it. No problems with it.

I have my clutch so that it's at the top of the pedal, I have had the fluid to change it with but I havent done it yet because if I need to pull it out I don't want to waste the $35 bucks in fluid if it won't help.Maybe Ill call DD performance and see what they say.

just talked to DD they said it's the syncronizer rings, they are about 18 bucks a piece, which isn't bad but it's the point of pulling out a new transmission and tearing it down. I bet next time I'll break it in right. They said the break in is very critical
