WTF? I see black helicopters at night..... they all have indian heads on the nose and yellow stripes on the side. it's weird. and they always come HERE!!!!

oh, wait, I'm on an Army Airbase.... nevermind

Shoot I see helicopters late at night all the time - they look like they're black too! Of course that's because they're in the shadows and it's really dark; being night and all.......

Anyhow, these helicopters have thesse long booms sticking out the sides, full of spray nozzles; and they swoop down out of the heavens and buzz the vegetable fields, and all the bugs die. I can't figure out why they do this

By the way does anybody know what a "crop duster" is? :rlaugh:

yup. exactly. I didn't have to wear that in Korea thankfully. got stuck with the girl scout cookie, aka 19 SC (E). next I get the III Corps patch.

gotta love the army. I leave a back water post for Sill of all places. I wanted to be closer to phx.... like Seirra Vista or maybe Ft Irwin...

enough griping.

All American brother! Airborne! Been at division for 3 weeks now, and have 10 days of it in the bush already! (the rest was inprocessing and weekends...) lol
Kind of a change coming from OpFor-land back at Polk. Should get my first jump with Division soon enough, and I WILL be a jumpmaster by the end of the year (2 more High Performance Jumps and I'll go).

Heh, I even have 82 posts now lol

sweet. if you jump with the infantry to get skeerd when they start pull on the anchor line cable........for some reason they like that lol. i never did the jumpmaster thing, do many deployments. i was gonna wait till i hade enough for atleast my start but i never got there. i left division with 31 jumps. i spent exactly 5 years and 6 months in the 82nd. OEF1 and part of2 and OEF1and part of 2 agian. 1500 flight hours so i was pretty busy. kinda miss it sometimes. best of luck.

Yeah the grunts do that in the '09 too. Damn Skysharks...

Anyway, looks like I'll be in JM school pretty quick (schools come easily for us 19D's... ).

I'm only short jumps, JM school, and duties (night hang, etc..) for my star. I have the time on status already...

Oh sure must be nice to get out of the plane prior to the crazy kamikaze landings...

Just cuz I really don't like the landing part does not mean I hate flying.:D

But SvtCobra's already heard how much I absolutely hate landing...

It's sad.... I've lost count of my skymiles already.... too many trips back and forth. I wouldn't be surprised if I've got more airtime than an airborne trooper fresh from benning....

Well, considering that you really only spend about 8 minutes flying into Alabama to Fryar DZ and do so 5 times in Jump school, that isn't saying much.

Kid, I was in Germany for 4 years and deployed once, and have 14 jumps (15 and 16 will be next week). I have as much time on an aircraft,( be it a Lufthansa/United Airlines flight from Frankfurt to Chicago O'Hare, or a C-130, C141, C-5, Chinook, or Blackhawk or our old AN-2 Colt flying anywhere from around Ft. Polk to R&R in Qatar or back and forth between Kuwait, Germany, and Iraq,) as you have in the Army.

The only bird I've flown in but never landed in was a C-17 Globemaster III.

And Trish is right, sometimes you are better off bailing out! They are anything but perfectly good airplanes..
