missing when hot

The TFI is very susceptable to heat. I would think that would be the missing problem, as for the overheating (which I would be more concerned about) more information is needed to have an opinion of the problem. ( what was changed before the problem, if anything, if the system will pressure test (are there leaks) etc.

well the car in question happens to be my ride there was some leaks the around the thermostat the goosneck was warped i replaced that also the radiator had a leak and i replaced that also as far as a system will pressure test i have not had that done yet

BS2, does it consistantly miss when hot?

First thing is pull codes (even if your CEL is not on). While doing so, get the car to miss and run a cylinder balance test.

The TFI idea is a pretty good one. The parts houses will often test them for free. In your case, You'd ask them to test it multiple times to heat it up.

Anything else is just gonna be wild guessing. Folks need more info to go on.
Good luck and welcome!

i have had the codes read and none come up even while hot im at a loss as to what to do next

My temp is way high when it is hot out and the other day in the late evening(cooler), the car didn't even get up to temp. Was just over the normal line the entire trip. I'm going to replace the thermostat just to eliminate it and its good insurance anyway.

hot no more

well come to find out that my fan was not kickning on and my radiator had a crack in it im still heasitating got no clue have changed plugs wires and even the coil what next

Nice work so far - you're replacing stuff that needed replacing even if it didnt help your miss.

If not mentioned: if it misses consistantly at idle, I'd run a cylinder balance test (it's the computer's way of figuring out which cylinder is missing and to what degree).

You do it as part of the code retrieval process (after KOER, as I recall). Takes 1 minute and gives great info that otherwise can take awhile to ascertain.

Good luck with it.

timing

as of this moment i am wating on a timing light to find out the answer to that question as it stands now ... at idle runs great but when i try to get on her she is heasitating dont know why but the miss is gone now but now i have major heasitation............. Help
