Over the last week we installed a 2400 Converter and a TransGo shift kit into my 95 GT, after everything was done we started it up just to find out that it won't shift into 3rd at all. If I put the car into first to start then I can manually shift it into second, but then it won't shift into third at all. However, if I start the car out in the 'D' position, it will never shift out of first at all, regardless of where I move the shifter to. Any advice or suggestions? This car has been on jacks for one thing or another for 6 months and I'd REALLY like to be able to drive it soon!! Thanks for any help!

I don't know if the AODE uses this, but on my 87gt auto, after my stall and shift kit install, there was a way to adjust the shiftpoints by adjusting something under the intake manifold near the throttle cable, I did not do the adjusting, so I'm not 100% sure how to describe the adjusting. If there is something similar to the aode, may want to see if there is one on yours.

I too had this problem after i rebuilt my automatic. I know it sounds bad and i am not telling you to try this, but i just floored it and manualy shifted it. It was rough, but it went into third and the problem went away. I did that because mine was pro. rebuilt by race shop and they guaranteed it for 90 days. It ran perfect after that for the 1800 miles i had it back in. I then went with the 5-speed.

Shift Solnoid Pac?

I had mine rebuilt it to wouldn't shift into 3rd we replaced the shift solnoid pac, which may be the problem. In the end it turned out to be a broken wire in the tranny harness. The shop pinned the plug to confirm voltages and discovered it. You might want to try that as a place to start, if we had it sure would have saved the shop & myself a whole lot of time and trouble. Rule out the simple stuff first.

Thanks! I`m going to try that next. I accidentally broke two of those wires when i was removing the midpipe. I fixed it but i`m not 100% sure it works. Which harness do you mean? The one that goes to the oil pan?
I cleaned the valve body but it didn`t help.

omg GreenStangGT ive talked to you about shift kits before off of midweststangs. I was leaving work today and my car will not shift our of 2nd. I got it to shift to 3rd once on an hour of driving. Good thing work is like half way across town and i had to take neighborhood streets home. in the ghetto practically. Im so mad. In D it just goes in 2nd. If i floored it , it would go 1 then 2 but. NO 3
