Question about a rear-end

My dad knows someone who is selling a "Turbo-coupe" rear end. The reason I say "Turbo-coupe" is because it has drum brakes. It has the 10 hole wheels on it with the T-bird logo on the center cap. How can I find out if it is really from a Turbocoupe, because I thought they had disc brakes in the rear. I mainly want it for the rear gears(he says it was a manual so it has 3.55s).

If it turns out it really is, what is a fair price for one of these? I am trying to figure out if it would be better to buy this and swap it in or just keep mine and pay $500 for the gears and installation.

TurboCoupes from 87-88 had a 8.8 rear axle with either 3.55 or 3.73 gears and and 10" vented disk brakes. Eariler models may have different combinations of axle size or brakes.

Ok, I just talked to someone I work with who had an 86 Turbocoupe(now has an 06 Mustang GT) but he said his 86 had drums in the rear. So I might pick this rear up.

What is a fair price for this rear end? I will call some JYs today to see what they want also. Thanks guys!
