Hey there everyone im new to the website as of about 25 mins ago and wanted to say hello to everyone and ask what is probably a dumb question lol
Anyway this is my story im new to mustangs and mechanics in general, about 2 weeks ago my father in-law passed away. He loved his Mustang well when my wife and I went to the viewing his Girlfriend had told me that he wanted me to have his car. So i know a lil about it but not too much i know its a 5.0, it has independent suspension in the front end and was built for speed. would you recommend me bring it to a mechanic to see exactly what he had put under the hood or can i take some pics of it and post it here and be able to get a general idea of whats under the hood? I figure i will defenitaly work on this car and make it as fast as possible seein thats what he loved to do with it. I figure he will be smiling (or cringing) down seein me working on his baby. Any suggestions would be great thanx

Welcome to the world! Pretty new here too. (website, not Stangs!) I wouldn't take it to the local lube joint, but to a performance shop. Preferably a Mustang Shop, if you have one in your area. But definitely post your pics! We can help you figure out what you've got there, that and we just like seeing other Mustangs! :D

well speaking as a fairly new stanger (as of about 2 years ago) you dont know what your getting into, its more addictive than crack and trust me you cant get enough. post the pics i know we all love to see them, and if u take it somewhere make sure u can trust the work they do because u dont want just anyone working on it

For reading material, I suggest the tech section of this forum (5.0 Tech.) At the very top is a sticky with a lot of useful information in it. All of that should bring you up to speed on the 5.0's strenghts and weaknesses.
