reparing a tear in leather

Parts stores usually sell a vinyl repair kit, but I don't know how it would work on leather. Hence why I never bothered to repair the tear on my leather seat. If all else fails, take it to an uphulstery shop and they should have the solution.

My seat is so bad that it looks like a winshield when it spiderwebs, only its tears in the seat. And that only one of three massive holes. Im just going to get new seats.

I had a stereo installed in my stang in 95. They made a small tear in the process. I had them repair it. They had a guy come out and repair it on the spot. It works... with the right product. Now its 11 years later and that part of the seat is holding up better than the rest.

i dunno, if all these guys say it's a POS, i'd believe them. I wouldn't waste my money and just save up for a new one

my gf, who is kinda into sewing, says you can go to the fabric store and get some fabric glue to create seams in tears (ask the people there which one to buy). She said it's a more malleable super glue, but very strong. That would probably be better than that cheap kit i linked up there.

fwiw, i've been researching replacing seat covers and the people i've talked to only do whole sets to the tune of $800+ for leather.

if you find someone who will do just one seat, let me know cause i might do it. my driver's seat is the only one that is really bad

good luck man
