I am getting ready to but an new 347 stroker in my 89 lx and was wanting to do the exhaust from the engine all the way back to the tail pipes. So far I have decide on long tube headers and a catback kit from Flowmaster. The one component that I am having mixed emotions about is the X/H pipe. Just wanted to know some pros and cons with sound and power. Thanks guys!:nice:

x-pipe is more modern and raspy in tone.
h-pipe is more old school, muscle car tone.

The h-pipe will give you the classic Mustang tone, since that is what they have come with, since the beginning. H-pipes rule, plain and simple.

Its really neither here nor there on your combo, I would be against running an O/R either. Especially with single chambers like I did. X-pipe with cats would be my choice for best flow, and the cats would help the back pressure a little so not to really hurt the low end.
