yeah i think so this is my first car but i have been around them my whole likfe working on the and i can't seem to figure out what this is it will crank cvontinuously but will not fire
if you can, just gently open the timing cover, if you can see your gear, with no belt, its your Timing belt, takes like 3 mins to check

That's not always a good indicator of a bad timing belt. Sometimes just the belt teeth around the crank pulley get wiped off. The belt will still be intact, but no worky. You're right in the fact that it only takes a minute or two and is worth verifying. I'd rather he come back and post "I know" it's bad rather than "I think". Ya know? ;)

have you confirmed that you have spark. if you do then you need to make sure you get fuel. ,when you turn the ignition key to on position you should here the fuel pump kick in , its at the rear of the car. if its working, you need to check and make sure its getting air into the motor. sometimes the intake right at the manifold will clog not letting any air in. good luck
