I hate all 03/04 Cobra owners. Every last one of them.

However, a guy with a Turbo Supra (with 485rwhp on 19lbs of boost) thinks his car is the baddest, but will only race on the interstate from a 60mph roll.
How's that saying go.......what does a 400hp Supra and a 600hp Supra have in common.

......they both run 12's :D

OK, I had an 471rwhp, 500rwtq pullied, ported, 03 cobra and now have my 04 gt vert. Several things I will say, #1 most of the guys on svtperfromance didn't want anything to do with me once I didn't have my 03, so I agree, they think they are better than everyone else, also I did constantly notice how front end heavy the 03 was. also I get more thumbs up in my 04 vert than I did with my cobra and do enjoy having a vert, also, I have won one best of show and 1 2nd best of show, judged by fellow mustang enthusists, and there were 03-04 cobras there. my auto/ live axle setup runs much better at the track, and my calf muscles are the same size! My friend with his 04 cobra was complaining how sore his calf muscle was after cruizing around at a hot rod show at the beach. Every once and a while I do miss the loud whine of my ported eaton when shifting through the gears. Around here there are more cobras running around than 430 rwhp gt verts. I also embarassed 2 03-04 cobras at the last beach cruize, both were like I have a cobra I am going to abuse you, well one on the highway at a roll, he nailed it and I did as well, after he did first and was pass him in no time and the other, off the line, he gunned it first hit his rev limiter and missed second, it felt sooo good, I am not saying that if these cars were modded more with better drivers they wouldn't of beat me...anyway I like the stealth approach. I think it's more about what you do to your car, to make it different, and when I built my vt engine short block, I was able to do a better job than the bean counters at SVT, I'll take my diamond pistons over the teflon coated crap mahle pistons svt put in and I eliminated the hot spot at the 7 and 8 cylinders with the cooling mod.

just saw a guy spend 8k for a 1.7 kb install, made 405 hp/tq tuned. seems like alot of money imo for the gain.

8k+ the initial cost of a 2000 gt for example, and your roughly at 20k. you can find 03's for 20 if you look. i paid 23 for mine with 11k miles. you also get more out of the cobra's over the power.

i know comparing initial car costs is lame, i think this is pretty damn close in comparison though, especially if your just going to "beat a cobra". then you also take into affect your on the stock trans/clutch/rear/shortblock of the 2v.

just my opinion. im pissed at my cobra though so thats all i can bare to compliment them on.

What you say is a very valid point..... but, that decision doesn't make sense when that same GT is paid off (or close to it) and the insurance rep starts salivating when you call for a quote.

I been there, I’ve done it. I traded my 2000 Gt (almost paid off) for a 2003 cobra and, in hindsight, it was the worst thing I ever did. The Cobra was so much fun and I pulled so much A$$ with it, but it ended up killing me when I had to sell the Cobra because I needed to buy a house and couldn't afford both payments.

I also under estimated the additional costs of insurance and other costs associated. Thinking back on it was a foolish and naive mistake. Had I kept the Gt It would’ve been paid off and I could have afforded the house and the mustang easily.

Good news is I'm back in the game. I'm married now and the wife has FINALLY agreed to compromise and buy a convertible auto!!!:bang:

.....See if I had only kept my Gt 5spd coupe

As a friend of mine sometimes says "Crap is never greener on the other side, Only different shades of brown."

My cousin got a pulley swap and a tune today on his 03 cobra. 460hp and 430 tq (i think) to the wheels. It pulls like you would not believe. I makes my outty into an inny.

Bastards with their blowers and all their untapped power. I hate all you bastards.

 its more like 460hp and 470tq...........hahahhaha:D

My neighbor just told me there's an 03 Cobra at a dealership not far from here, $31,000. I'm just not gonna go, cause I think it'll kill me when I get back in my car. My husband just got an SLP exhaust last week, and something that small's been killin me. I keep finding excuses to drive his car :p . Maybe if I get that shifter in tomorrow I'll be a little happier...

I anyone is close to the Sioux City Iowa area and wanting a black convertible really bad.I stopped there saturday was gonna check on a trade but decided I dont want a $500-600 payment. Probably wouldnt get 13,000 on trade for mine anyway. I would rather have a hardtop to be honest.
I keep thinking that in the long run it would run me probably $6000-8000 to supercharge mine.Add that to what I have in mine now and it would be over $30,000 into a car I couldnt get 16,000 out of I would guess. Anyway, here is the link if anyone is interested.

2003 Black Cobra Convertible <-- $29,995
