Headlight switch?

I replaced my headlight switch about 2 months ago because my headlights kept blinking and my taillights did the same or stayed out. After I replaced it everything was fine.. Tonight I was on my way home from my girlfriends and noticed my gauge cluster lights would not go on, my headlights went on fine, and I got pulled over....twice....because my taillights were out...

Did I blow another headlight switch? Do I somehow have bad wiring?

WHAT'S GOING ON HERE?! :fuss:

I had the exact same problem with my lights. My problem was that the wires on the harness side were frayed which was causing a terrible connection between the pigtail and the wire. I went out and bought a new pigtail since my connector was barbequed from a bit of arcing. I haven't had any problem since then other than realizing I did a piss poor job splicing the pigtail on to the harness the first time around. I also took my dash out since I had very little patience working in the little space where the instrument cluster goes.

The guy in the parts department told me it was fairly common for the wires to become brittle like that.

Just clip-clip, put some heat shrink on, twist-twist, apply a little fire (or heat gun), and viola.

You replaced the switch. Did you check the terminals in the back of the electrical connector?

Good luck.

Exactly what I was thinking. Make sure the harness isn't melted like mine was:

If it is, replace that harness section.
