No compression

Just swapped my stock heads/cam in this weekend. I got spark, fuel, and air. But I have no compression on more than one cylinder on each head. Can somebody list me some possible reasons that come along with head/cam swap where I wouldn't have any compression (brain is fried, been working 19 hours straight).

Thanks - Chris

Did you swap from the Twisted Wedges over to the stockers? The only thing I can think of is if you used the pushrods from the TWs with your stock heads, your valves are probably hanging open.

Matt, I threw the stock pushrods back in. That would suck if I used the TFS'!! Can you say bent valves, lol.

Chris, I'm gonna put it to stock and hang on to it, as long as it doesn't give me problems I'll keep it and maybe use the money from the parts to supercharge it. :D

Brad, yea I worked out most of the bugs. It ran great for a long time, but I just got tired of it and the poor gas mileage. :) I figured I'd put it back to stock and save the money for a while and either sell it or supercharge it, lol.

UPDATE: I timed the cam wrong. Tore the timing cover off tonight and retimed it, ran a quick compression test and came up with a LOT better results! Put everything back together and was about to fire it when I noticed the t-stat housing leaking. Pulled the bolts and it broke in half!! Darnit! :nonono: lol, now I gotta get a new t-stat housing and put it on tomorrow and see if she fires. I'll let everyone know how it goes.

where ya been, chris? hope all turns out well w/ the car. still working at the honda stealership? our local club is having a run to south padre island starting in mcallen, tx to the island on august 13. it would be sweet if you joined nacho and i--lemme know if you can make it.

Hey Paul, I've been lurking, but being so busy working all the time and most of the time I'm on the bike these days the mustang has gotten little attention. I'll let you know if I can make it in Aug. :nice:

UPDATE: Threw my new t-stat housing on and she fired up first try, even idled like a champ without anything else, lol. But my CEL is on. Might be from my EGR port that I taped a piece of cardboard over to cover, lol. I don't have EGR and my JB Weld would never set up the other night, so I have a "quick fix" on it until I can make another EGR delete plate for it. Should be tomorrow night.

Anyway, she runs like a champ! SOOOO smooth with no bucking or surging, I had forgotten how nice a stock motor runs, and it's QUIET!! (the motor is) But I'll probably put an Eddy intake manifold on it and my old SLP mufflers back on at least. One of these days I might slap a blower on there.

EDIT: Oh yea Paul, I still work at the Honda "stealership". :)

i was pleasantly suprrised how nice and smooth stock was too. too bad it's so damn slow ...

glad to hear you're running again

btw, i have a polished typhoon intake i'm not doing anything with. pm me if you are interested in it

And once again all the small furries can come back out (the motor's growl at stoplights used to scare all but the wildest of wildlife).

Funny how something like a fun, fast bike makes us see how hard it is to make a car go fast and have manners (like a fast bike does). That's why I never went nuts making cars fast.

Glad to see ya around here Chris! I know your TwEECer is taking up lots of space now - you can send it to me and I'll protect it for you. :D

Grady, things are good! I've been super busy working 60 hour weeks and messing with the stang and bike. Hopefully I'll be back on here some more now.

Hey JT! Long time no talk! Yea the critters can feel a little safer now, lol. You got that exactly right about the bike making the stang feel inferior in every way. That's part of the reason I did what I did. (I might go FI in the future......... sshhh!!!! :D ) But no, the twEECer is DEFINITELY staying! Gotta turn off my EGR and smog and change fan settings somehow! :D
