you NEEDED a new hood! i guess things kinda work out for the best. my rear bumper was hit last winter (only cracked the paint) but somehow i decided i had to put a new hood on at the same time and i am very happy with the outcome!

Yea, I deff did, but I'm skeptical with paying the extra for the cobra pieces. Now it's $250 with all the fogs and brackets. I would really like to keep the blower and I'm trying to assess my finances to accomodate keeping the boost that is sitting in my garage...

Do the fogs later...you can get the brackets and lights from late model restoration and MPS

I'm actually thinking of going with a GT front bumper with the chin and just a cobra hood. I don't want the car to lose it's "balanced" feel with a cobra front end and the rear being a GT rear. I'm considering a cobra R "95 style" hood as well. Not sure yet!

As bad-ass as the '03 Cobra hood and bumper combo would be, you're talking about finances, keeping boost, etc. Simply put I think you'd be nuts to go for the Cobra stuff when you could put the GT stuff back on and keep the supercharger that's in your garage. Hell, just get a normal GT hood to boot, save some money, and have a beautiful sleeper. Just my 2 cents but if I was stretching my money to keep a blower I just bought, I wouldn't be thinking about anything else; Just keeping the damn supercharger!

(edited for a typo)

Okay, I'm going to be getting a new GT front bumper, having the chin re-painted (yay!) and mounted flush to the front. Along with that I'm going to get a cobra hood AND keep the boost. It's a 20% restocking fee to return the blower. So now the blower is going in Aug 19th! Mild delay! :hail2:

:flag:

I'll get the estimate from the shop by 5pm today. I'll let you guys know what he says!

Just got the estimate. $5,800 damage! Eeek! There was a cut in one of my KDW2s that he is going to try to get replaced. Also, he's going to get my an 03 cobra hood and paint my mirrors. :D

$5,800!! Wow... How much of that will be covered by your insurance? Hopefully with the increase in your insurance costs you'll be able to foot that bill. That'd be tough...

August 19th. Wow, I'll be in Iraq by then. Scary.

ENJOY IT!

Insurance will cover it all. I just need to pay a $850 deductible. The rest is covered by insurance. Also, my rates won't go up since I just got Allstate's Accident Forgiveness option! Phew! :nice:

I won't have my baby back for 2 weeks, but I hope she comes out looking better than ever! They are going to re-paint my chin, paint my mirrors, give me a new KDW2 (sidewall got a cut in it) and an 03 cobra hood. :hail2:

Then the blower goes in the 19th of August. :hail2: :hail2:

It's going to set me back financially for 2-3 months, but I should be able to pull it off. I just wish I didn't put $10,000 into an ING CD last month. :bang:

I'll keep everyone updated as the body work progresses. I just want my baby back!!! :(

Glad to hear it's all working out. Give us some pictures when it's all done :)

Deff will! Hopefully she comes out looking just as good (if not BETTER) then she did going in! :nice:

Oh and why do I have the urge to call the body shop every hour to make sure everything is going as planned? This is my first time ever being apart from her and I feel like it's my first born having their first sleepover!

:rlaugh: Wait til you have your firstborn to say that! Mine is 15 and I live for sleepover days! They are a pain in the A** when they're teenagers. I would not enjoy being without my car, however. :D

Damn $850 deductible!!!!!! i'm glad i'm not your age anymore...I pay $1500 a year full coverage with a $250 deduct and i have that new Allstate super plan like you...only perk of hitting 30 i guess

Yea bro. It's supposed to be a $1,000 deductible but the body shop put in a $150 credit (pending approval) because my "custom wheels" got a little scratch in them. So hopefully Allstate approves it and I only need to pay $850. :nice:

I pay $2,600 for full coverage with a $1,000 deductible. My rates drop 30-40% next year though because I hit 23 (adult) and it's my 3 year anniversary with Allstate. That'll bring me down under $2,000 thankfully! :hail2:
