Thanks for mentioning the starter, i wasnt sure if it would be a problem from the heat or not, i was thinking about getting a ford racing mini-starter, and wrapping it in header wrap but wasnt sure if ild need to

i think that wrap would help preserve the life of it, so its probably worth it.. i just helped my buddy change his out and it was a PITA.. he has BBK longtubes and the canton 7 quart pan.. (he had a stock starter) i told him i wasnt doing that crap for a long time again and to buy a good starter... i think he went with the ford mini starter as well..

(by the way, follow the instructions on the pan gasket.. it recommends a 4 piece... we didnt use one.. it leaked, so use a 4 piece gasket)

theres a road race track right near me, and ill be spending a lot of time with the car there, the wide track quarters and fenders are the easiest way to get more width to the car and more rubber underneith

** edit**I may just roll the fenders and quarters i have out a little, both options, im just thinking about makin the car as fast around the track as i can

** edit** i might go with the 1.5 inch wider fenders, i think they look pretty good, and ill be able to run 11s and 10s which should be enough in a fox for some real grip

cobra irs is more work than it's worth the three link setup from mm is just as good and is on a ton of track cars (just not mm's) the difference in handling is only a little and the effort and time dosen't make it worth it, also makes the ass end wider and even with the big fenders(which are fugly, but i anin't paying the bills so that's up to you) i would think would limit tire width, also the ford racing two bolt block is a waste of money, stock is fine up to about 450, and a good 4-bolt is needed for more, other that that it all sounds cool, how bout some pics of this beast

i got the ford racing 2 bolt block because i didnt hae a 5.0 block to start with, and I main girdled and valley girdled it as well as ground away all of the casting lines and sharp edges,(which for those who dont know makes the block substantially stronger), im goig with the cobra IRS more so because of the challenge then anything else, plus i like to be a little bit different sometimes, pictures are here CLICK though theres still a real lot more to go so it doesnt look like much yet in the pictures i dont even have the main girdle on in the pictures, i just got the block clearenced and back together and the main support on and the bottem end all buttoned up, no pics yet

i thought about that, but that wont give me more space for rubber up front, ive looked into minitubing but for racing with turns you want to be as wide as possible, i dont think that the 1.5 inch per side looks bad, i think it looks ok, pic i wish i could get a picture of them on a lx hatch before i decided, either way its gonna be a while before i get there, the body is gonna be the last thing to get played with, engine drivetrain suspension and chassis are more important. its hard for me to picture the hatch with them, i might not like it, the 3 inch ones do look way overboard on the hatch. ive been trying to find a good picture the last thing i want is for the car to look like "rice" with a "widebody kit". the other thing i have to get a definate answer on is how wide you can actually go with the wheels and tires on a fox, i dont want to spend all that money and put all that work in and get a half an inch of tire, width. Im definatly set on doing the IRS just because i like the idea of it, ive only seen it in magazines, ive never see one in person that was done. So i think it would be pretty neat to do.

hey thanks :nice: i was really back and forth on the silver or black finish on the trickflow stuff, im so glad i went for the black finish i cant wait to be done, see it and hear it and drive it, itl be great. Anyone have any idea what kind of numbers ill be making? ive talked to a lot of people and gotten a very wide veriety of numbers, Im less concernd with numbers than i am with weather itl be fast or not, i know it wont be a 9 second car but it should move pretty good, i was hoping for between 350 and 400 rwhp i was told everything from 300 to 500 rwhp and i just dont know whos right, of coarse its all speculation, only wat to know is finish it and put it on the dyno
