what should i do first

  • Sponsors (?)

1. 3.73 gears (~$130)
2. short throw shifter (MGW, pro 5.0, etc) (~$180)
3. off road H/high flow cat H and catback (~20hp) ($140 for H pipe, 400 for catback)
4. 12-14 degrees timing (unless it pings) (free if you have a timing gun)
5. 1.5" lowering springs and tokicos make the world of difference for your suspension (~$225 for springs, ~$500 for shocks/struts)

Subframes didn't do squat for me. I had them put on when it was stock though. They just give me the piece of mind that it won't "sag" as it is a vert.

Gears (3.73 or 3.90) and timing to 14dg. I didn't feel squat from the h-pipe either. To me, this car was aLOT harder to make it go fast than my LT-1. Almost disappointing, but I still like it better than my "z."

not too much unless you bought stuff that require a tune.

what is the goal of the car? street machine, drag car, autocross? what is your budget?

Welcome to :SNSign:

First thing is, give us a sig so we know what we're working with :nice:

Next thing is, please be more specific with what you want

Power?
Handling?
Appearance?

I mean ... a shifter ain't gonna help you with more power
and
A set of gears ain't gonna help you shift any better

One last thing :D ... Welcome to 94-95 :SNSign:

Do not waste your money$$ on CAI. It also doesn't do squat, at least the MAC. I did notice a difference BUT in COLD temp months only and not enough to justify the price. Grady has some input on this. Custom CAI from home depot is going to be the most effective by straightening the bend and getting the MAF sensor away from heat.

I dont mean to sound negative but the only mod that really woke my 5.0 up was basically a new 5.0 H/C/I. Only then will you be anywhere close to all these new rods coming out. Everything has freaking 300-400+ HP now and stock we are at 220HP.

p.s. Which is why I am being a thread hog trying to figure out how to get even more power out of my H/C/I. I am even thinking of selling my 306 shortblock now.

Unless you are gonna go to a forced combo.

You want 373's :nice:

They will turn less than 150 more rpm than 355's at cruise speeds
AND
They'll give your HEAVY SN95 the much needed lighter feel when cruising around town than 355's will.

This which gear thing is not Rocket Science ...... only math

Do Not allow yourself to be snookerd by :nono:
