Swapping 5.0L from Mustang into older hot rod pickup, motor will either be MAF or converted to MAF.

I've read that the motor could possibly stall when coming to a stop if the VSS is not hooked up. Truck will be running a Ford toploader which doesn't have a VSS.

Any source for aftermarket VSS that will fit into the toploader but also allow the stock cable to function for my speedometer?

Thanks.

The VSS replaces the carrier that hold the speedo gear. I would recommend thatyou pull the VSS out of a 89-93 5.0 and compare it side by side with the speedo gear carrier for the top loader.

i ran my old efi car with no vss (broken wires) for months without a major headache. It would stall maybe twice a week.

That is still too many for me. Call me anal but I prefer to have my vehicles running with no hiccups. I will follow Jrichker's advice and check them out.
