Scored a real good deal on LLG 2005 GT with 3200k in miles for $22,500. Dealer gave me $4000 trade in value for my 94GT with 100K + miles on it, but I had upgraded the tranny/engine/brakes etc. One the salesman was all over it and talking about buying it as I was leaving the dealership.

Previous owner had an aFe CAI installed, and it does have a nice deep exhaust note to it and wow does it run. Does any one have a aFe installed on there GT ? aFe claims 19rwhp/22 rwtrq

I can't believe how nice this car handles and accellerates in stock condition.
All I can say the new GT are outstanding !!!:nice:

dewey, congrats on the new addition. wish i had been paying closer attn as i would have bought your 94.
if any thing is left over from the 94 ...pm me. again congrats...i now know what to look for when you are out and about. greg

I don't know about that cold air, but most air intake and tune changes are making about 20-28hp. I don't know if the one you had required a tune, but most due. Without a tune, it would be in the 15hp range...Oh, and Congrats! Nice car :)

Thanks for compliments guys !

Seattlegt - I don't believe that the aFe CAI requires a tune and there web site advertizes a 19 rwhp / 22 rwtrq for that model. I drove a std 05 GT about a week a go and it doesn't even come close to the way this one goes when you step on the do fast pedal. :D the sotp dyno meter sez we have more than stock hp here.

Next mods will be Steeda UDP's, FMS / Borla Singers and a Motorvation 1" TB spacer. Then when it cools down this fall a dyno run to see what we have at the rear wheels.

Thanks, Dewman :nice:

Tell me more. I had searched and found a thread concerning the different TB spacers, and if I remember one of the Stangers had dyno'd it and found a 1-2 rwhp gain and 10lbs of trq. plus a 2-3 mpg increase? Of course this does sound to good to be true. :rlaugh:

What do you think ?

Thanks, Dewman :nice:

if you do get the motovator...let me know how it works out for you. My company is in the process of making a new TB for the 05+ stangs...and we are always looking for some comparison numbers.

I've had and aFe CAI in my '05 GT for about half a year now and it performs well. When I first put it in, it did not need a tune and it did make a good improvement. But, I then had Paul's High Performance set up an SCT Xcalibrator 2 with a regular gas tune taking advantage of the CAI. That did wonders. The tune eliminated the throttle lag and snapped up the shifting in the auto trans. Car runs very well now, still gets 19-20 mpg around town. I don't know what the power increase was, but it was significant. Good with the aFe without the tune, great with it.
