T5 Problems

The input shaft does have a bearing cup inside where the front of the output shaft rides, but it looks like u can pull it out. I was lookin through my rebuild manual and my trans has a caged bearing on the front of the output shaft but the rebuild kit came with 15 individual bearings, do i need to get the same bearing i have now or will these work

no the reg. style won't work you can go to a bearing shop and they can match it up. You either have a cobra t-5 or one of the t-5z's Is your car a cobra

You are tha MAN!!!!!!!!:hail2: Turns out i have a T5Z and I got the bearing at autozone for $11 so allz good! I try to post some pics tomorrow.

:nice: I finished the rebuild today!!!!!!:nice: It shifts like butta, no vibrations, no leaks, so im happy. :notnice: I need a new clutch cable, I guess on the way to the shop the screw fell out of the cable clamp and it landed neatly on my header and melted the inner plastic liner, and when it cooled off it welded the cable to the conduit lol. I heated it up with a torch and worked it back and forth till it cooled off, just a quick fix till i get paid agiain. Let it be known if I was ever faced with the choice of rebuilding the trans myself or buying a new/used one to swap I honestly have to say that I would set it on fire and collect the insurance money and buy a honda:owned: lol J/K but seriously I would set it on FIRE!!!!!!!!!!! I had it back togeather on Wed. but I was gettin impatiant and when i put the tailshaft housing on i pushet the shift shaft in and it pushed the 3rd 4th syncro too far and jammed the F*****, then when I realized my mistake, I made another, driving the roll pin out with the MOTHER****** in 4th, these 2 probs resulted in a full day of drilling out the pin, finding someone that sold them, and tearing off the tailshaft and topcover then having to put it back togeather very carefully:bang: But its over and Im back on the streets!:nice:

yeah, if you had posted up i would have told you that. The extension housing only has a recess for the pin to come through in neutral. Putting the synchros and detent rings in the first time is a tricky process..... glad it is working out for you.... once you have done it a couple times it becomes about a 3 hour project
