So I'm putting a powertrax locker diff (28spline  ) and 4.10's on my nearly stock (Pulleys, headers, exhaust) foxbody...

What should else should I buy or upgrade on the rear while I'm already there?

1.) Should a pair Moser or Strange or any other aftermarket axles be a very good idea to do before I through the rear end in there? As I said my cars mostly stock and don't plan any other mods other then maybe spray, How much power can the stock axles handle?

2.) Rear end girdle? What brand?

3.) Timken Bearings? Which ones should be replaced? Anyone have the part numbers? (I work at a parts store but there are so many different bearing part numbers listed fir 8.8")

4.)What diff fluid should I run? What weight recommended? We stock redline and royal purple at my job....

5.)Torque boxes reinforced/welded is going to be done for sure.

6.)Anything else??

Thanks,
-Jayson

why are you doing all this on a car you do not plan to do much modifying? You are going to hate having a locker rear in a street car.

I wouldn't worry about buying new axles. My OEM 28's have held up fine through many years of high power abuse.

Rather than press the old bearings off to reuse, I would just buy new pinion and carrier bearings.

Agreed, only time you need stronger axles is when you launch from 5,000RPM on slicks at the drag strip. (even then some get away with it)

Any brand girdle is fine

Most run Royal purple or Mobil 1 fluids (syntheic.) Just run the recommended weight

Torque boxes reinforcements are a good idea, but not a requirement on a street car. Most of the tears or rips are from drag racing.

I got the locker and gears free from my brother, he was about to install on his car before a woman demolished his foxbody when she ran the red light.

So just the carrier and pinion bearing should be replaced?
