'94 mustang 5.0 swap

  • Sponsors (?)

I don't know. Last I heard the swap was impossible. If you want try my website in my signature, I know its not a step by step but if you need it let me know. I'll be able to help ya. I'm down to doing these swaps in 5 hours from pulling to running.

There are a few guys on here who have done it.......you need the EEC and wiring harness out of a gt for it to work........try the search.....I'm sorry I can't remember the guys who have done it but I bet they will chime in....I also think you have to upgrade your front end.....ie springs shocks etc for the additional weight.........

I have a 94 v6 aode that was converted to the 5.0. I was not the owner when the swap was done but i do know that the the springs, computer, and wiring harness were replaced with ones from a 94 GT with the aode tranny. The rear is still the 7.5" piece but the car is stock. Im waiting to find a low priced junk yard 8.8" with traction lock before i do anything like h/c/i :D

Mine was done over this past winter

Computer & wiring harness are a must, you'll also need the sensor pac that under the passenger side fender wall, vacuum tree & lines, it would help to beef up the shocks and struts. You can leave the stock V-6 rear end in for a while, but you'll need to pull gauge cluster, the tach & speed ratios will be off until you swap rear ends. You'll need the exhaust from a GT. Your best bet is to get a junked GT and strip it!

94 5.0 engine swap

Hey Bo,
I'm new to this sight, but am "cleaning up" someone else's swap on my sons 94 mustang a 3.8l fuel inj. to a 5.0l. carbureted. He just bought the car in july over the 4th from a used car lot.
The first question to ask is if you are doing a carb or a fuelie swap?
As far as I can tell the front end is original. The rearend has an air suspension on it (I'll have to look at this closer after we quit running into "surprises" in the engine compartment.) The Automatic transmission is marked as a "race rebuild"... what ever that means,we will see. All of the wiring to it has been deleted.
If I can be of help in any way E-mail me... just put in the header you are from stangnet web sight. There alot of points to cover and don't want to take up a ton of space on here. [email protected]

Mine has been done for right at two years now. It really wasn't too bad of a swap really. I'm still running the original v6's t-5 tranny (with the 5.0 bellhousing and clutch) and the original rear in it too, but I put in a t-loc and some 3:73 gears just for fun. Danny (sorscode) helped out with mine in a few situations, he got me through when I didn't know what plugged in to what. Ask him for any specifics and he can definitely help you out. See my signature for the mods on the engine so far. This is a worthwhile swap if you already have the car and just want the power of the 5.0. And if you don't mind having to go throught the "project", because it is a fair amount of work.

O.T.---Hey Danny, where have you been? I haven't seen you on here in quite a while man!! :D
