I taught my wife to drive stick on my '04 Saleen. Granted, it's not the best idea to practice on a 400hp car but so be it..... We'll, my clutch is making a whirling noise now. If the car is in nuetral, clutch pedal up, no noise Press the peddle down (any amount) and the whirling noise starts. Clutchs grabs fine, no slipping, no smells/smoke. Any ideas?

Thanks!!!

Wouldn't the throw out bearing whine only when the clutch pedal is UP??? I had this on a previous camaro. mine only whines when the pedal is depressed!!

What a good new clutch?

Thanks!

I have a similar issue as well. I have a new center force clutch and throw out bearing. When the clutch is out it makes a noise and if I even move the pedal slightly it stops.

Bet you both 100 bucks it's your throw out bearing just like 68Torino said. Maybe pilot bearing. Needs to come apart to make the sound go away. You can get the same symtom from it being new. Have had the same thing happen and right after a clutch install. Was a bad pilot bearing.

Follow up question if it is the throw out bearing, what could be causing it to keep going out. Right before i bought the car it went out and was replaced. I have only had the car for a year and i replaced the clutch and the thow out bearing and its know making the noise again.
