i hope to be buying a built block around spring time. a couldnt decide between foxlake or vt. i figure i really cant go wrong with either. i think the fox is a little more expensive.

anyway, i noticed the vt stroker. i was wondering if there would be any significance there for the setup im going to run.

i realize getting a big bore would be better but that is way too expensive. i also heard that strokers are not too reliable? i want a reliable set up.

my set up is going to be a built block with novi2000 on top at about 14-15psi. intercooled. later i will add the p-51 intake.

wondering if the stroked is ok for boosted aplications and what type of gains there would be over just a regular displacement forged short block. thanks guys.

I would go with the VT personally. Their stuff is really good quality. I love my stroker. It is a SHM kit I built with a friend of mine. I have 4000km and it is awesome. The stroker added about 40rwhp vs. a stock 4.6. Very happy with it.

hmmmmm. we have one for and one against. i need some more info.

that is the one thing i was worried about with the stroker. i hear the pistons can travel too far or somthing causing damage. if this is true, there will definatly not be a stroker going in my car. like i said i need reliable.

im just not sure if that is a problem with all the stroker engines or if the problem was exagerated...anyone know?

Well ..here is a real world picture of a stroker piston @ BDC. It travels .338" out of the bore. I don't know why some people keep saying the come out half way up the piston. Maybe they have seen some crappy kits??

thats good info,... I am just going by what I have seen from destroyed strokers. seems like the sideload on the rings is the biggest issue though. And after looking closer at that piston that is still to far out for me,.. look how far the wrist pin is away from the bore. couldnt that cause problems?

I am just asking .. you are the expert here.

I am also curious about this. I know with your 324 BB/stroker, the cylinder is re-sleeved so the piston will not leave the bore, but if the stroker is using a stock sleeve, then will this cause a problem?

That is a stock length sleeve you see pictured. the extend sleeves could not be used with the beefy big end of the aluminum rod.
